Naomi was born in a little coastal town in scotland. When she was still fairly young her parents Samantha and Richard Dale decided to move to Australia for reasons Naomi did not understand, however their new home was even closer to the sea much to her satisfaction. From an early age Naomi had a fascination with the ocean. She would collect shells, surf with her father and be taught all about the little crustaceans by her mother, who claimed to be a marine biologist. Though quiet Naomi was a determined and happy little child. Although sometimes she found herself falling down and making errors she would always learn from the mistakes and carry on exploring life. The only bizarre part to this idyllic life was that naomi had wings, as did her father, that she was told she must keep hidden. Do not tell anyone. For so many years she mindlessly followed this advice.

During her teens Naomi dated a boy from her friend group after a few attempts by him asking her out. This went on for a few weeks until she kissed him- and found the spark she’d been told all about and romanticised wasn’t there. It wasn’t until later that year when a drunk girl-friend kissed her cheek that she found that spark. Breaking up with her boyfriend wasn’t hard and they remained friends, the three agreeing to keep it a secret from her strictly ‘traditional’ father Richard as the girls carried on dating. Things were good for a while although that relationship also eventually ended and both worked through things in their own ways. Naomi found her emotions were best expressed through music and experimented with drums and piano before settling on a violin as her instrument. Still by the end of her highschool years Naomi was looking for a path in life. She considered following in her mothers footsteps and studying the ocean but the idea was flimsy until the day she returned home to tragedy.

Coming home from surfing one day the girl found her mother face-down on the kitchen tile, motionless. In a panic she called the police and desperately tried to revive her. While paramedics were able to save her mothers life the truth was out from then on- Samantha dale, now paralyzed, had never studied marine life. In fact she had been working as a club waitress when she met Richard and accidentally became pregnant. She gave up her career to move away with her new child and now, thanks to Richard's seemingly unprovoked attempt on her life, was paralyzed from the waist down. Regardless of this Naomi was overwhelmed with the relief of her mother surviving and promised to look after her from then on.

But even while spending every waking minute looking after her mother she wanted to do more. She wished she could have done more for her mother, for everyone. This was when the thought hit and a few months later she was enrolled in the police academy. Working her way up through class after class Naomi gained confidence and took home a degree in criminal psychology, as well as the rank of officer. Eventually she moved out and began to pay a professional to look after her mother so she could live her own life. There were never any bad feelings between mother and daughter- nothing but support, even when Samantha discovered her ‘childs’ orientation was anything but Heterosexual. Life without Richard held far less restrictions and rules though she lacked a significant explanation for why she had these wings and how she was supposed to simply ‘hide them’ for her whole life as instructed.

Even with frequent visits to her mother it was a lonely life and as much as she tried to focus on it, the work she did could never manage to fill the void. After accidentally taking her first life while on duty she began to spiral, and with each incident from then on Naomi felt her mind crumble further. She discovered around this time that she had an ability to heal tho injured and dying, the one thing keeping her guilt at bay as all of her failures stacked up. The bear attack that almost took her life mid-twenties was a breaking point. She became paranoid and overworked to try and keep the thoughts at bay. Eventually Naomi was given an indefinite suspension from the force and this was the point at which she realised how disposable she truly was to them. They did not care about her health, only the police force's image. She quit on the spot

Thankfully at this point in her life Naomi had a considerable nest egg saved for hopefully raising a family and was able to wait a while before deciding on her next career move. During this time she threw herself into research of winged creatures until finding one that matched her fathers description- the Solis. Now she finally had a reason for her incredible power and a name it would be easier to keep it a secret on her own terms. Speaking of her own terms Naomi began her own private investigative business and began to travel internationally for work. This flexibility provided a great reason to see the world but also more ways to hide her wings and more control over her mothers care and potential future family. She continued doing this job into her forties and present day and is now well-known for her talent in tracking down difficult people.

The secret of her lineage was bound to come out eventually though. That was made even more certain when she met Kate.
