Arthur was a fancy lawyer in a big firm from a rich family till he got a reality check, did a one-eighty and now he tries to live an average life. It's not as easy as he thought.
Talking with people is his second nature but he keeps his personal information private. That is mainly cause he is pessimistic and has very creative fantasy when if comes to "what if ..." situations.
He is very good at analicing situations and finding loop holes - some of the reasons why he became a lawyer in the first place.
Big changes and new skills don't come easily to him. This includes that he is a misserable cook.
Arthur wants to be better than what his parents showed him and raised him to be.
It's his firm believe that anyone can learn and change if they want to.
He doesn't like peope knowing his private life, who aren't part of his private life. It makes him feel transparent and insecure. Business and private life should be clearly seperated in his opinion.
Another thing that makes him uneasy is people starring at his scares.

He is a bit on the short side and a bit soft around the edges.
During his time in the university he got into a bar fight and crashed face first through a shop window. Now a good part of his face is covered with scars from the shards, some bigger some smaller. Those got him the nickname "Scarface" by some of his colleagues.
He likes to wear well tailored suits, which doesn't always agree with his new life style. Even in a relaxed context he wears some kind of button down, unless it is for work out.
Originally he is from England, but went to study in the USA, just to rebel against his parents, as you do. But by studying law out of all things he was following right in the family's tradion of doctors and lawyers, just in a different country.
Friends & Family
He got along with his family for the longest time besides the usual teenager and young adult rebelion. It took a bit off an ugly turn when Arthur saw the break down of a friend, who lived basically the same life. They fucked up and ended up with a shitty gas station job and nothing much to their name. All their colleagues dropped this friend, but Arthur held contact and had a scond-hand reality check, seeing how fast he could lose everything.
Slowly he realised more and more things in his life that were so far from real life and that could break his back, should he ever end up in a similar situation - not being able to clean properly, cook for himself, doing a budget and having etc. So he made it his goal to be more self-sufficient. Most of his old friends and colleagues didn't learn the same things from the situation and didn't understood why he changed like that.
Skills
He studied law and is a very good lawyer.
Recently in his free time he focuses on acquiring new skills, or well, life skills.
Some of his older hobbies include reading non-fiction, watching nature documentaries and running. He is, as his hobbies show, a very serious person.
Love & Life
Arthur is gay and while comfortable with himself, he is not open about it. Again it's to his attitude towards separting private and business.
