Bullshit 2 am backstory: 
 Gloomy was raised in solitude, bred to be the perfect 'bride' for a demon hell-bent on coming to earth. Of course Gloom said 'fuck that shit' and got out of dodge.
While wandering, they came upon a street magician. Something that filled them with wonder and came to enjoy them. Of course, not knowing jack-shit about the outside world or affection or anything really. They would watch the magician daily, becoming attached rather quickly when they would converse. 
However the day came when some kind of wild-ass accident happened in town square, resulting in the death of a whole bunch of people including Gloom's magician friend. Wracked with panic, Gloom decided to summon the demon they were betrothed to prior and proposed a contract. If they could bring the magician back, They would give their soul. That's some easy shit for the demon but like only once. So the magician was brought back, and now Gloomy's best friend is an undead. Also they're literally possessed. Isn't that fun.
