With a past shrouded in mystery, Zen is only known as an accomplished swordsman and the most brilliant tactician alive. He's always remembered for his striking red eyes and ruthless behavior in battle. The difference between man and demon is almost invisible for he may quite literally drag any opposer down to hell if they fight him. Frightening rumors painted him as a terrifying enemy, but allies always knew him as a charismatic and ambitious man. And Zen was determined to lead the very best of them to carry out his ambition for glory and power. He was acting as their commanding officer now, but there are kings and gods that he can claw at to turn them all into something so much more.
And against all odds, Zen almost does it, but one day he abandons this dream. There was no reason given why he decided to retire the lands and start sailing the open seas. He went from commanding an army to commanding a fleet of ships, acting as a common mercenary band who strive for nothing but money. Those that followed him long enough knew it wasn't what Zen truly wanted and they all saw how his smile stopped reaching his eyes. The soldiers wanted answers from their captain, but Zen was never the type to let people question him or control the conversation.
But ever so slowly, opportunitiy arises in foreign lands that sparks Zen's ambition again. Recognizable strength and formidabble power is greatly admired to those helpless against forces difficult to handle. With newly founded optimism and excitement, their return to their prime was greatly celebrated.
Through the cheers, everyone missed the sight of budding darkness in Zen's heart and why exactly he endeavored to fulfill this dream in the first place.
Design
Zen is a fairly tall man with long black hair tied in a ponytail. He has vivid red eyes accompanied by red eye liner he often wears to emphasize the color. He has a lean muscular frame with broad shoulders and a smaller waist. Usually, he predominantly wears red robes and either black or silver pants underneath. Black outlines the outfits, usually in the form of undershirts or armbands along with black boots. Some other iterations of him, he has red armor that follows the same color palette. Zen always carries around a belt that holds two swords and one dagger.
Design Notes
- He can adopt a lot of hairstyles.
- When he sleeps, he lets his hair down.
- Has scarring mostly layered on his back and arms.

Miscellaneous
Trivia
- Loves drinking with company and indulging in the atmosphere of social events.
- Although he can hide it well, he gets uncomfortable in stormy weather.
- For each significant opponent defeated/killed, Zen takes their weapons. Collects them almost as trophies.
- He knows how to cook fairly well and is rather resourceful about it.
- Zen likes particularly flashy clothing for events.
- Has a strong fondness for birds and cats.
