Arcanist Yohan - THE STAR

Yohan is a figure marked by an understated selflessness and a hidden sadness. He lives to shine light and make others smile, much like a star that sacrifices its own existence to bring brightness to those around him. He willingly sacrifices his own happiness and well-being to uplift and uplift those who need it most, even to the point of self-destruction. Behind his ever-present smile lies a deep pain that he rarely reveals. Yet his salvation can be cruel to those who care for him. His sarcasm and witty remarks often serve as a defense mechanism, masking the uncertainty he feels about his own purpose and worth.

Additional notes:

Yohan is akin to a brilliant star, radiating life-giving energy into the cosmic void. Yet, like a dying star, he struggles with the potential to become like a 'black hole' (Nihility), devouring light and life around him as he burns out his own essence. In his pursuit of saving others, he must constantly walk a fine line between selflessness and self-destruction, lest his own light be snuffed out by the voracious nature of his self-sacrifice.

“To the imperfect tomorrow…”

Anecdote ???

The night was still, and the stars above shone like diamonds scattered across black velvet. Yohan stood at the edge of a cliff, overlooking a valley where countless flickering lanterns danced like fireflies. Below, pilgrims, wounded souls, dreamers with tired eyes had gathered to hear him speak. They called him "Star-Bearer". Names he never asked for, but wore like a mantle. He looked up. Not to address them. But to answer the sky. His voice came soft at first like wind through glass chimes, yet it carried far enough to still every breath below.

“Do you know,” he began, “how long it takes for light to realize it’s already dying?” A pause. A faint smile touched his lips one that didn’t reach his eyes. And in that moment, those who knew him well felt their chests tighten. “I wasn't born with starlight,” he said, “I became it after witnessing the countless cruelties of life and not being able to bear the hurt others endured. From when I was first granted this power I felt the first pulse an ache behind my ribs, a glow beneath skin too thin to hold what I became. They told me: You are light now. So I gave what I had.”

He turned slowly toward them then, arms open not wide in triumph, but half-raised like someone offering something fragile and final before release. “I lit paths through endless nights. I warmed hands numb from grief so they could clutch on again. I whispered into ears deafened by silence: 'It will get better.' Even when I wasn't sure I believed it."

His voice cracked slightly, but not from weakness. From restraint. “But stars don’t live forever…
We are stories written in fire across eternity and all stories end.” A hush fell heavier than snowfall over mountainside villages long abandoned. “You ask why I keep shining? Why bleed radiance when no one sees how much it costs? Because once long ago someone just like me looked down
and saw you down there shivering and chose to burn one moment longer.”

He took a slow breath the kind taken before stepping off an edge known too well — “And so here’s my truth: This body? These bones? This heart pumping starlight instead of blood? They’re hollowing out now. Each act of grace, a theft from myself.” (Another smile.) “A cruel destiny… isn't it?” Silence pooled around them both the living and the soon-to-be-legendary alike. Then softer than falling starlight.

“Don't mourn me when I go out just know that someone loved you enough to let themselves fade."

The God he follows:
God No. 17 - The Star

This god is known for bringing comfort and guidance to those in need, illuminating the path forward and offering spiritual nourishment to the soul.
