Traveian Harpy Guide

Yes! you are allowed to design a harpy based on the guide i have here! if you do so i would love to be tagged/the character linked to this profile so that i can see them and if wanted i might include them in the background of the comic i am working on!! (this is not a guarantee and would be somewhat far in the future!!)

Language

Harpy speak common! Tropical harpy who live on their island have some more slang and an accent different from mainland common but for the most part it is the same!

Where do they live?

The common harpy (anisodactyl feet) live in the western canyon of traveia, it is a deep canyon traversing the entire western region of Traveia, the river running through it is known as the Heron River, which begins at the end of the (yet to be named northern mountain range) and enters the ocean on the south west. The entire area is considered semi-arid, and has strong winds. These winds and the river have over time cut the surrounding rock into large, sometimes oddly shaped formations where many caves hide. The harpy people have made their homes atop these large rocks and in the caves and rock formations. 

Tropical harpy live away from the mainland continent of Traveia on a small island near the underwater mer capital. The island is a lush rainforest where the tropical harpy have no problems living a laid back life free from most of the conflicts of the main continent.

Grounded harpy (tridactyl feet) travel a lot but they often travel through and set up temporary communities in the desert and grasslands surrounding the western canyon.

Abilities

Most harpy have the ability to manipulate air, they use this to help lift and keep themselves in the sky as otherwise they would be too heavy for much more than gliding. Most harpy can use this power to create a wind barrier to use as a shield, and some have the ability to create sharp weapons of compressed air, but it is very difficult to get these weapons to keep their shape.

Clothing

Harpy wear light clothing to not weigh themselves down more in flight, they almost always keep their arms bare so that they are ready to take off whenever they choose. Many clothing choices are more flowy, but harpy always wear form fitting undergarments under looser clothing so as to not unintentionally flash anyone while flying. 

Although their skin is usually greyish, please be aware that harpy all have red blood and as such their blush and skin's hue is always going to be tinted slightly pinkish!
