Additional Magic: She has heightened speed and strength. She can create small barriers out of magic (although the larger they are, the more they darken her soul gem.) She also gets this feeling sometimes, before something really dangerous happens, that warns her of the impending threat.

Soul Gem: Bright Violet. When transformed it appears as a diamond shape on her right forearm.

Backstory: 

Claire Hamilton was born the third daughter of the wealthy, esteemed Hamilton Family. Her father is a politician and her mother is an actress who's always away for movie shootings. Her two older sisters, Juliet, 22, and Adeline, 18, are hardly at home due to their schools being in different countries. 

Claire never minded being alone. She never was at their enormous, empty house anyway. She took piano lessons, cotillion classes, acting classes, and (her personal favorite) Ballet, on top of her regular school schedule. On Sundays, she explored all the secret places in her home, read in the library, or would practice her painting in the drawing room. Sometimes she would stroll through the gardens or just sit with her widow open just to enjoy the fresh air.

Her life changed one day when, on her way home from ballet, a group of men kidnapped her. She was locked in a small, dark room with only a mattress where she was held for ransom. Luckily, her kidnappers kept her in their clutches only a few days and she was rescued by a special ops group before anything else happened to her. However, her parents became extremely overprotective and the experience made her much more wary of the world.

Claire's life now consisted of being driven to school by trained bodyguards, being guided to all of her classes by her bodyguards, and being driven home again after school. While at home, her bodyguards would lock down everything. No more walks. No more even opening the window.

After months of this treatment, Claire became extremely agitated. She lashed out at her father and locked herself in her room after. She had to get out, and snuck out from her house alone, without any destination in mind or what the consequences would be. She walked until she came upon a small shopping district on the edge of the city. She strolled around, happy to be just another stranger in the crowd, until a couple of guys started to hit on her. She politely declined, but they continued to get more and more aggressive, eventually pushing her into an alleyway. One pulled out a gun, and instead of feeling any sort of fear, all Claire felt was exhaustion. She was tired of other people many any sort of choice for her, tired of feeling like she was always in danger, and tired of the people who threatened her.

It was then she heard a voice. It said "I can get rid of these guys for you. All you have to do is wish for it to happen!" 

Claire looked up at the men attempting to assault her. "No." She said, "I'll do it on my own. I want to protect myself." 

With her newly contracted magical powers, Claire sent the group of men flying and returned home without a scratch on her. The mysterious voice, a white, catlike creature named Kyubey, visited her at her house and explained what being a magical girl entailed. The next morning, Claire was able to magically charm her father into letting go of all her bodyguards and allowing her to roam free whenever she pleased.

With her newfound freedom, Claire fought witches at her own leisure, eventually joining a group of magical girls called The Valkyries, and eventually became one of their four leaders- along with Elizabeth Woodrow, Nadine Stover, and Bianca Boston.
