Valencia is a thoughtful young woman who speaks when she thinks it is necessary. Val takes after her father with her calm demeanor and quiet nature, something she developed living with a loud, overbearing brother. Val is committed to goth fashion (she wouldn’t be caught dead in one of Alice’s flowery dresses or pastel sweaters) and her bookstore certainly reflects her aesthetic. Valencia is constantly reading and as a child her book collection overflowed from her room. Running a bookstore was a perfect remedy for this, as she can read books that come in without keeping every single one, and always has new ones to read. Valencia dreams of writing her own book and has been working on a draft for many years, but it is so long and confusing, that it may never be published.
