Aziel

In essence, Aziel is a trickster demon, one who simpers sadistically with every human soul that falls prey to his "games." There is almost no level that he will not stoop to in order to get his way, and in fact, his amorality is actually what has enabled him to become so successful. Exploiting the human mind and their innate instinct to grant others the benefit of the doubt, he acquires their souls in the most dishonest of ways. He offers promises which he never fulfills. He cheats when he gambles. He exploits every last trick in the book, and then comes up with new ways to see despair on the face on his victims with his great intellect, all with a grin on his face. There has almost never been a time where he is not smiling. He's immensely successful, and knows how to pick his targets... but unfortunately, his gambling addiction stuck with him from his time as a human, and he likes to go after people he knows are dangerous, partially because their souls are more delicious, but mainly because he loves the thrill of possibly being found out and hunted down.

Before becoming a demon, Aziel was a tax collector for the government, who extorted citizens for their money, and mercilessly jailed them if they could not pay off their immense debts. He would gamble away their money, and then come back for more, completely shameless in his search for the thrill of losing it all. These terrible deeds committed in his human life was what initially led him to descend into the circles of hell and arise as a demon. After being tortured in Hell for centuries for his crimes, a human foolishly summoned him in hopes that the demon would bring him great fortune. Her family was struggling terribly, poverty was closing in on them, and unable to find a way to pay them off, she had resorted to consorting with the Devil. She asked him of one thing: to give them a life full of riches and glory. He happily gave her what she wanted, and she and her family swam in endless riches... or so they thought, as they were placed under a spell of endless happiness that lasted until their bodies wasted away, while he made off with their souls and sped off to deceive more people.

Now, Aziel roams as a free spirit, spreading his debauchery about as he deceives and steals. Take heed: if a handsome, kind-looking fellow with white hair and an innocuous smile asks to make a bet, be on your guard.

Abilities:

- Shapeshifting: Other than his current form, he can shapeshift into all sorts of things. His cat-like, humanoid form is also a shapeshift. In reality, his true form is a spindly, bipedal cat demon, with the most wicked smile you'll ever see.

- Teleportation: He can travel as he pleases, but only to places that he is familiar with. He also has a limit to how far he can teleport, and he cannot teleport absurd distances, like across continents.

- Enhanced strength: Not by a lot, considering the kind of demon he is, but although he will most likely lose to more combat-oriented demons, he can easily overpower humans.

- Demonic speed: Aziel is able to move at inhuman speeds, to the point where his movements cannot be seen by the naked eye. 

- Extreme intelligence: Arguably the most important facet of his abilities. His intelligence far surpasses many other creatures and demons, and he relies on it heavily to deceive others. 

- Illusion: Being a trickster also means being a magician of sorts. He can create all sorts of things to fool the mind. His illusions are also a part of why he is massively successful. However, his illusions can be broken easily, as they are quite easy to destroy.

- Black magic: He can use spells for combat, although his magic abilities are a bit limited compared to more offensive mage demons. 

Weaknesses: 

- Individuals that are highly combat oriented. He can handle human combatants easily, but other combatants such as other demons or creatures can easily defeat him in a 1v1 fight, hence why he normally chooses to flee rather than deal with these confrontations.

- The holy element. Angels or celestial characters can easily kill him if they manage to pin him down. Crosses, bibles, talismans, and other items associated with God in Christianity or holy beings in other religions will not do anything to him unless they are blessed artifacts. Salt doesn't impede him at all.
