About

If someone needs a shoulder to lean onto or an ear to talk out, Jasper is there. He radiates calm and understanding, and anyone could agree that he never seems to be anything but soothing. Jasper is the very definition of a big brother, even if he doesn't have his own little siblings. He's always prepared to be there for others, though most of the time, he can only offer advice and words of wisdom.

Despite this, though, Jasper himself seems... almost lonely. Although he doesn't show it, the older mothcat always yearns for company. He often is able to fulfill this need through the customers he gets at his tea shop. But sometimes it's just not enough. While he's excellent at hiding it, behind closed doors, Jasper can carry a frown.

"Take it all one step at a time. It doesn't matter how long it takes, just as long as you get there."

Summary

Jasper was lucky, being born into such a normal family. His parents were your average joes, running a basic knickknack shop in their little village. It was excellent for tourists or travelers that stopped and stayed in their village. They always made just enough to get by in their small home, and they knew enough about gardening and caring for crops to grow their own food rather than have to purchase it. They never had any reason to dislike their lives, and that didn't change when their mothkitten's cocoon hatched.

His parents had planned to have a mothkitten for a long time. They had his bedroom all set up for him before he was even in his cocoon. They were excited to see him emerge from his cocoon and take his first few steps into the world, his wings, still wet from hatching, fluttering a bit. While they named him Jasper, they never ended up calling him that. Rather, they enjoyed calling him Jazz.

Much like his parents, Jasper grew up average. He had no significant life moments as both a mothkitten and a teenager, rather simply growing up and helping his parents run their shop. He knew everyone in their small village, and because of this, he had a relatively good reputation. And although he loved the little village and his life, Jasper wanted to know more about life. He wanted to start living on his own, making his own way in the world, and giving his parents their space back.

So, when he became old enough to do so, Jasper prepared to leave. Although his parents didn't want him to, having enjoyed having a young spirit in the home, they reluctantly agreed to let him leave. With a promise to visit and his farewells, Jasper set off.

Before settling down, Jasper took it upon himself to go around Falena and get to know the culture of other villages and mothcats and areas. He was always striving to learn more, and he kept going until he couldn't learn anymore. His journey didn't make him any younger though, and by the time he was done, he was much older than when he had left his parents'. Despite his constant traveling and hiking, he had managed to gain weight and become slower, making it harder for him to keep going, even if he wanted to. Jasper knew it was time to find a home for himself and settle down.

Jasper went back to a nice village that he had come across in his journey. The village was slightly bigger than his, and it was on a path that caused it to gain all sorts of visitors. Jasper, once one of the visitors, was now becoming a villager as he found himself a nice little place to stay. Conveniently, it was attached to a little shop, much like his parents' home was. And he knew exactly what to do with the little shop.

After settling in, Jasper worked on the shop. With the help of the other villagers, he opened up the first tea shop in the village. He had always had a love for tea, and with the knowledge he had on the world, he felt he could pass along the cultures of other villages and areas of Falena through his tea. The villagers loved his tea before he even opened up, so on grand opening day, there was already a line out the door.

The popularity of his tea shop grew. He continued to work it on his own as he met faces, both old and new, every day. However, one guest left a lasting impact on Jasper. Thankfully, it was a positive impact. The guest never provided their name, nor did they talk about their reason for being there. Jasper only shrugged it off; everyone had their secrets, and he wasn't about to pry a customer. When the customer left, though, it was quite unexpected. And not only did they leave the coin that they owed for the tea, but something else--something even more fascinating: a teapot. The teapot was white with gold trimming, glistening regardless of how the light hit it. Jasper didn't see the customer with it previously... Maybe it was a gift? He tried looking for the customer, but they were nowhere to be found. No one else in the village knew about them.

That night, Jasper decided to give the teapot a try. Of course, he figured it was just any normal teapot, despite its gorgeous decoration. So when he picked it up to put on the stove back in his home, he was surprised to feel it was heavy. It was filled with something. He was surprised--it was empty earlier. Curious, Jasper took out a teacup and poured the liquid contents out. And he was in complete shock; inside was tea! And not just any tea, but hot, jasmine tea, which was the type he was just getting ready to make. Was this a magical teapot? He didn't know, but every time after that once that he used it, the teapot always had tea ready for him, whatever type he wanted.

Jasper keeps his teapot close to him. He doesn't use it for his shop, as he still enjoys making tea on his own. But it held a special place in his heart, and whenever he was too tired to make his own tea, he would ask the pot. It never leaves his line of sight, having a place on the top shelf of his shop when it's open, and then again in the kitchen of his home. Everyone that came into his shop complimented the teapot, saying it was one of the most beautiful pots they've seen. Jasper would have to agree with them, but it was more than just beautiful; it was special and, more importantly, it provided his number one relief.

Jasper can still be found in his famous little tea shop to this day. He continued to work the shop alone with no other workers, and he seems very well-off. Anyone can come and visit him and even see his wonderous teapot from a distance. However, Jasper isn't getting any younger. Lately, he has been considering either having or finding an heir, one who will be able to learn his ways and take over the shop when he is gone. But he still has time to do so.
