One of two green opals living in the lab. Leafy Green, as she's known, is the darker of the two and pretty zen for someone made from the shattered corpses of the gems who fell before her. She spends most of her free time meditating or studying the indigenous plantlife of whatever planet they've landed the lab on this time. Leafy runs the gardens spread throughout the lab. Other gems look down on this work since it's non-essential and mostly just there to make the lab look lush and beautiful for important guests.
Not that Nacre hasn't consulted with Leafy about using the organic matter for gem-production, of course. It's a side project compared to everything else and making ambers and petrified wood is much different from how they grow gems in the nursery. Leafy has no qualms taking part in this. She, like Nacre, has a deep curiosity about her field of interest and would be thrilled to grow her own gems one day just like her mistress.
True to her name, Leafy Green has a knack with plants and can grow almost anything in an unnaturally short time. When they have organic "guests" down below (it happens), she cheerfully provides for them, noting down how long they last on what diet and which plants are poisonous to which species.
She's an imperfect opal, but she's stable and deeply loyal to Nacre, so she's at little risk of being shattered.
