One of two green opals at the lab, Lime is the lighter of them and, unlike Leafy Green, has no affinity for plants. She did, however, get her nickname from a fruit that Leafy grows in the gardens.
Although visitors to the lab would assume otherwise, Lime and Leafy are from different clutches of opals. Lime has shards of peridot in her, resulting in a more technical focus for her work. She has light control over some metals, can produce holograms, and is a technopath, making her a perfect addition to the maintenance and engineering sector. Lime mainly works in the upper areas of the lab, helping with programs, implementing new functions, building machinery, and takes the pilot's seat when it's time to move the lab. She is, however, one of few opals allowed in the lower lab and the prison. Although she finds it distasteful and frightening, the progress could only move gemkind forward.
Lime considers herself forward-thinking and is never quiet about it. She's a little too proud and hates being proven wrong, to the point of becoming violent. In truth, she thinks of herself as being above the other opals (except for Leafy who's ambition reminds her of Nacre) and is deeply jealous of the twins, Fi and Contra Luz. She knows it's just because they were Nacre's "special project." No one will say it out loud, but that chip from Nacre's gem didn't just evaporate. Of course it went somewhere. Regardless, she hates the twins and prefers talking behind their backs with Coco to otherwise acknowledging their existence.
