Julius is not your normal creature. Well besides the obvious. He was extracted from a stray meteorite that plummeted into the planet. He came out as a blue mush with no shape or absolute form. His warm meteorite was broken into many small pieces. Tiny red crystallized pieces were scattered about. Lost and confused, he gathered all the pieces together and took shelter on top of the pile. He stayed there for a long time in the changing weather.

Eventually animals started to investigate. Julius was feeling rather lonely so he tried to form a shape similar to them. It was a struggle and it made the other animal uncomfortable. He practice for days finding that he could hold his form better around the meteorite. Using what little mental powers he had he formed himself a collar of matter from his body and surrounded himself with the bits of his broken shelter. The pieces smoothed and formed to his will. He was now a four legged being but all his energy was spent. He admired his work. He was close to other animals except the face. He didn't see the need for the mouth so didn't make one. Even though he couldn't use it to verbalize, he swapped it out for a triangle-like part where he could vibrate sounds within the piece.  

It's been years since then. He's still learning about the world. He can now change his shape to a larger one for protection. It's more beast-like and terrifying but rarely uses it. Julius can't retain his form without the matter collar. As hard as he tries he still needs the meteorite. It's not all bad though, it's super trendy.

One day Julius stumbled across Odyssey. Odyssey was hiding from a rather disgruntled creature. Springing into action, Julius grow to his monstrous form and scared away the angry beast. Julius waited for the small bi-ped to leave cover. It was a very curious smoke guy and their light seem to comfort Julius. The anthro was very greatful and fed Julius something that was rather tastey. Julius wanted to keep protecting the small creature so it followed Odyssey. At first Odyssey shooed Julius away but over time Julius was accepted. Now the two are rather inseparable.
