The grandmother of the Vega family; she is married to Juan Vega. Together, they run a succesful family-owend Mexican Restauraunt, which has several branches.

Abuelita manages the employees but will step in the kitchen to cook too--and she's pretty darn good at doing both! She has a take-charge attiude, and her strictness rubbed off on several of her kids. She likes to get things done and gets frustrated by those who slow her done. While she has little patience for those that get in her way, such as unruly customers, she knows how to work them to her favor.

Owns and loves a beautiful little dog named Chorizo.
