About
Blunt • Studious • Insensitive
Nithae has a strong attitude and a rough personality, having a hard time holding back. He is bad at showing affection or cheering people up, and is rather forward and brutally honest about what he's thinking. Luckily, he's not easy to anger, but he does get kinda sassy when met with negativity. He's also surprisingly lax, which could be seen as a sign of not caring, though he simply just takes everything in the world as it is. When doing research outside of his tower home in the mountains, he met a human girl who found his behavior amusing. Over time, they fell in love, and Nithae softened up quite a bit. In his culture, there really isn't an idea of love, and this was kind of new territory for him. So basically, he became a confused embarrassed mess who had no idea what the heck he was feeling or why, and the girl had to baby step him through. Although, she's kind of an impatient person, so it was more like dragged him through and refused to let go. It led to a lot of fun moments, at least. They got married and traveled around for quite a while learning about magic and alchemy before finally settling down in a cute little human village by a river. There, they had a son named Alasef. Because he grew slower than the human children, Alasef became withdrawn and shy. But that just led to the trio spending even more time together, playing games, learning botany, and other fun family experiences.
Sadly, about 14 years after having Alasef, the wife contracted an unknown disease and died. Since living in a village was his wife's idea, Nithae chose to pack up and return to his own race back in the mountains with his son. Nithae felt responsible for not being able to save his wife, especially since they had been learning alchemy together. He had spent her sick days learning medicinal remedies and healing magic in order to find a cure, but never could find something that worked, or even what the sickness was. Upon returning to his tower, he continued researching intensively to find out what had killed his wife and how to cure it, and after that, learned as much as he could about other illnesses and magic to combat it so nothing like that would ever happen again. Despite what could be called a noble pursuit, he had hardened back up considerably, especially at the ridicule of his peers for leaving and getting married to a human. Nithae kinda maybe sorta drowned himself in knowledge, magic, and making medical books for over 20 years. What finally snapped him out of it was when he found out his son had quit bard college and ran away from home. He thought that maybe it would be better if he got out and saw the world again, too. Plus, his son was no longer at home obviously, so abandoning the tower was a viable option again. With that, he left home and traveled by road to different cities in Tuymia to hopefully learn something new. He went with minimal carried items, used portal magic to store all the rest of his important items (totally not a ton of books nop), and put 5000 wards on to protect himself and his jewelry from danger. The world is dangerous, man.
