MOLOCH - TRICKSTER - TEENAGER

BACKSTORY:

Moloch is a strange case of a Strudel. When he was born, he was ugly and weak, many eyes littering his face. Two had even grown on his paws, making it hard for the small Strudel to hold things without feeling immense pain. The babe wandered for weeks looking for his offering with no success. Just as he was about to give up hope, he found his only friend in the world; Moloch.

Moloch looked just as horrifying as the Strudel, being a huge, slightly moist, floating eye and all.  Looking into him was almost hypnotising, with his unwavering gaze and emerald green iris.

I can help you.

The voice of Moloch rang in his head like a bell. It echoed in his brain, sending shivers down his spine. Though the eye was creepy, in his small time in Midveil, the strudel had learnt not to judge others.

“You would? Really?”

For a price, I can give you your offering. I can give you whatever you want.

“Whatever it is, I’ll d-do it! I don’t wanna die like this! Even if I end up bein’ scary an’ all....”

Go to sleep. When you wake up, I will bring you food.

To the strudel, this seemed like a good deal. He was too kind, too trusting, and too desperate to not accept. He was running short on time, and his transformations got more painful each day that passed. He had already grown claws on his two front paws. He didn't want to die, even if the world around him seemed uncaring and evil. He would be sure to find someone that loved him for who he truly was!

He woke up in a comfortable place. He didn't know where Moloch had carried him to, but for once in his life, he was in a warm blanket, with food right in front of him. It didn't seem real. Frantically, he looked around to see where his companion was. He was staring at him from across the room, sinewy wings flapping in a lazy manner.

You are safe. Take your offering, young one.

He didn't need to be told twice! The small strudel took a huge bite into the cake pop before him, munching to his heart's content. It tasted so good, and he couldn't stop eating. As he filled his grumbling stomach, the strudel sighed in satisfaction.

Do you like the offering I chose? It looks a little like me... I had a lot to pick from.

The strudel didn't even wonder where the strange creature got his food from. He just nodded frantically in approval, crumbs flying from his mouth.

"Yes, thank you, thank you! I dun know what I woulda done without you!"

It is my pleasure.

--

From then on, the young Trickster lived with his companion. Moloch brought him everything he could have needed to grow and more. He had no need to leave his cubby hole they had found together, apart from to go on adventure every now and then.  The Trickster named himself Bub. It was short, sweet and simple, much like him.

Bub didn't know much about himself, or what he was, in fact. He had never seen another of his kind in his life. His thoughts strayed to that sometimes, but Moloch was always there to ground him back to reality.

You don't need anyone else.

Bub agreed.

--

Moloch had proposed a deal with Bub. He wanted to become one being with him.

I don't like being only able to speak to you. I want to go outside, and have paws, and feet, just like you do. I want us to explore together. I will always protect you, Bub. Especially so if we share the same body.

"Are you sure you know we can do it? It seems scary...." Bub wondered, absentmindedly. He was drawing a picture whilst he spoke to Moloch.

Listen to me. I have never lied to you.

Bub needed to go to sleep to let Moloch perform the procedure. When he woke up, he felt...different. He couldn't open his eyes. He tried to wiggle his toes, but he couldn't do that either. He couldn't even feel his chest expanding and deflating in a rhythm as he breathed. But.. he could feel something, deep inside his brain. It was Moloch. They were still connected.

I did it, Bub. We are Moloch now.

"Where am I? I can't see anything! Please, let me see! I want to know what I look like!"

He felt paws untie something on the back of his head. As his blindfold dropped to the floor, he looked at the monster above him. It was Moloch. But so very, very different.

Isn't it great? I can feel things now, Bub! We are marvelous! We can do whatever I- I mean we, want!

"Why can't I feel my body? Is it meant to be like this? P-Please, change me back.. I don't like this, I want to be me again..."

I can't do that for you. I saved you, but for a price. You promised me that you'd do this. I'll bring you around with me. You can live like I did.

Tears streamed down Bub's face as Moloch picked him up and wrapped him into his tail.

"I can use your voice now, Bub." He spoke the words directly from Bub's own mouth, making him sob harder. "I have a voice now....."

PERSONALITY:

Moloch is not very nice. After taking control over Bub's body, he decided to wreak havoc on all those he so much hated. He is vengeful and manipulates other strudels to get what he needs. His main goal in life is so cause as much chaos as he possibly can. He loves food, and is a bit of a glutton. Playing games is also very fun to him.

Bub, the voice in the back of his head, is very shy and sweet. He has full control over his face, apart from the words he speaks, so he often looks shy, scared or embarrassed if another strudel sees him instead of Moloch's head-eye. He hopes to find a powerful magic user that can break Moloch's curse and feel his plea from within. It's unlikely that that will happen, since he can't talk, but he hears talk of powerful Wilderlings taking pity on Tricksters now and again.... Maybe they'd be able to find out about him.
