Background

Once a powerful archangel employed to watch over the Heaven's and earthly affairs as a scholar, Hector was stripped of his status and cast out after he began investigating a conspiracy within the Heaven's.  After the betrayal he began to question the hierarchy, becoming a devil as he turned his back on it.

With a disposition and voice so gentle, it's almost shocking that a devil like this actually exists (at least, according to many). He may carry himself with patience and understanding, yet he can come around to quickly express his distaste to those who are obstinate thinking that everything they believe in is the absolute truth. When he descends upon someone, he is quick to challenge their worldview, but it's mostly because he wants nothing more than to hear intellectual conversation and someone who understands their individuality.

Hector's identity is kept mostly as a secret, because he knows what sort of chaos would unfold whenever he spies on humans. He's curious of their rituals and holidays, disguising himself as a (rather ignorant) human for the sole purpose of spying on them. Aside from learning and teaching, the rest of his agenda is unknown, making even other demons distrust him. His appearance has a naturally beguiling quality to it, though don't be fooled. If he has to defend himself, then he'll do so with an incredible fierceness.

He is referred as "The One That Refused To Bow" because he refused to be subservient to humans. As paradoxical as it may seem due to his fascination with humans, he refused to bow to them because he felt like it was an insult to bow to an inadequate creation in an inadequate God's image.

"Quotes"

"I've been called and confused for many things. I wanted to bring the light... of knowledge to man. I don't accuse anyone."

"God... he is proud, angry, jealous, greedy, lazy, hedonistic, lustful. Perhaps you're familiar with this concept. Man was created in his image... and so man's sins are nothing but a reflection that he refuses to see. The real question now is the fact that he even bothered to create these fruits in the first place."

"You seem... troubled. What, or who, is making you so, child?"

"Hehe, it's a welcome break to be able to sit down and talk with you when our preconceptions are put aside. Not thrown away, but placed on the shelf where we can pick it up again."

"So you refuse to open your mind and turn away to blind worship... that much is a shame. What made you so afraid of deviating from your draconian understanding of the world, child?"
