FAMILY: A father, younger sister and a son. He left his lover and son behind quite some years back, but they parted on good terms. By now, the romance between him and the woman he left behind has died down, though if they were to meet again they'd laugh and get along just fine.
His father and him aren't that fantastically close, however.
Now he regards his crew as his family.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Sunkissed skin, long dark hair adorned with beads and bright blue eyes. Stubble at all times, but he wears it well. Some moles and 2 scars diagonally across the left side of his face.
He's quite broad and muscular, but at average height. I'd say 1.78 m.
Oh, don't forget the dimples.
PERSONALITY: Loud and jolly, likes to yell every word he says. Very positive and friendly towards his crew, but he'll threaten you in the same tone entirely. Likes to do his own things, regardless of what the quarter master recommends. Theres no knowing if he's in a bad mood or not, which makes him pretty terrifying to be around. He doesn't throw loose threats, if he tells you he'll personally shoot you if you ever dare make the same mistake, you better believe he'll do it.
BACKSTORY: Son of a fisherman, his mother died after giving birth to his younger sister. He spent years working alongside his dad to provide for the three of them, as well as taking care of all the domestic duties. However, when Sebastian was about 18, 9 years after the death of his mother, his father got engaged to his new lover and she'd taken over all the work at home. And since Seb was old enough to go and live on his own, he did. His father didn't very much care about what he chose to do.
Thus, Seb went and joined Bloodwake as a boatswain's mate.
After 7 years of work, he was quarter master at that time, something rather unfortunate happened.
Privateers entered their ship, just when they were recovering from another raid, thus weakened. They were on the losing end of the fight. With just a few men, the captain and Sebastian himself left, there was less than no hope at all for survival.
Seb still defending himself on deck, the captain and the others got driven back to the powder magazine, which was a bad development of the situation in every possible way.
Being the stubborn fool he was, refused to let the privateers take the ship. If he was going down, the ship went down with him.
He detonated the powder, and you can probably guess what followed.
With everyone dead, a ruined ship and a massive loss on the privateer's side, they saw no reason in staying any longer. They left and let the ship's ruins behind.
However, up on deck, Sebastian was still alive. Injured, but living. He searched the rubble for any signs of life, and eventually found Travis.
They agreed on working together to get the wreck back to the shore, which they managed.
Sebastian then used the remaining funds and his own two hands to repair the ship.
He got Travis to join as the new quarter master, and since it seemed only logical, elected himself as the new captain of Bloodwake.
