clarke grew up in a typical, everyday home
that is, until the monsters arrived
he left his family of his own accord to protect them
now he stays year-round at the camp
he's easy to get along with
that is, if you don't mind his overconfidence

Clarke is incredibly self-absorbed, which annoys a lot of people.
This does not mean that he never cares about others, though.
If he's really comfortable around you, he'll flirt with you incessantly.
