Profile

Pronouns: She/her

Species: Human, currently.

Powers: Magic powers controlled by music, words, and dance.

Personality: Laine is practically the epitome of confidence, maybe even arrogance. While she has a lot of luck, and seems to pick up on musical-related magic quickly, her real skill is her total confidence in herself, and her ability to assert herself. Of course, this is also a big problem for her. She can be abrasive and rude without even realizing, and tends to get herself into problems by assuming she can handle it herself. She would sooner die than admit that someone is stronger for her, and often needs help from what friends she has to make sure she doesn't get into a fight she won't get out of. Of course, because of her personality, she isn't really the easiest person to like.

Her friends find her confidence inspiring, in some ways, and when she does make a friend, she is devoted to them. She holds her friends with a similar confidence and belief in them as she has in herself,

Backstory: ok wow

so as a preface this oc has been with me since my junior year of high school, in an ongoing daydream that still goes on to this day

Laine has had her fair share of odd encounters in her life. As a young child, she opened a box at a friend's house, let a demon with no recognizable form out, and gave the demon a body in the form of a Lisa Frank notebook. This particular entity saw magic potential in Laine, and communicated with her via the pages inside them, always refilling pages as needed, always a Lisa Frank notebook.

Time passes, and through the kind of weirdness that comes from studying something you can't possibly explain to other people, Laine starts to become isolated, and irritated, with not many emotional outputs. During a class, in high school, she notices another student that's trying to summon the god of destiny, by performing something they are never destined to do.

Laine stops this, expecting foul play. But it turns out that she wasn't supposed to try to stop the kid, as the magic wouldn't have worked, and the god of destiny shows up, ready to duke it out with this high schooler for causing a scene. If he could see what Laine gets into later on, it would be even more understandable. This is only the first time she ruins his day by doing something that she wasn't destined to do, but is a consistent habit of hers, even though she legitimately doesn't mean to, and cannot move away from her destiny if she actively tries to.

Many things happen, and she finds the worlds of parallel universes. There is a specific order to them, but the only important thing to know is that there are nine of them, and Laine finds the one in the center (we are in the center/right part of the universes)

While in this universe, Laine meets the God of Death, who ends up sort of adopting Laine as family, and supports Laine through her adventures.
