- it has worms. gross!
- used to be a high ranking space pilot before getting infected by a colony of alien parasites. they still have pretty good control over their body/mind but their crew went EEK. SCARY GOODBYE!!!
- parasites themselves are a sentient hive-mind. they act kiiiiind of in symbiosis with Artery but ultimately they're just looking to spread and they WILL hijack his body to do so
- parasites can allow his body to "transform" slightly... kind of a werewolfish situation. Bigger + more teeth n the like
- he's lowkey like among us if you think about it
