Silinan is, and has been, many things. Husband, father, monster, disaster, slave, victim, questant, keeper, and more. He began his life on a tiny island, devoid of life, an egg forgotten in a curio cabinet in a place where none would ever look again. Supposed empty, dead, hollow, a gleaming black shell to admire and treasure, and now, to sit out the years, quiet, covered in dust as nature reclaimed the world around it. What spurs a dormant dragon to hatch? A desire, a need, a cataclysm? Whatever the reason, he came into an empty world and lived, alone, on what could be caught in small jaws. Until the Lady came.
Deva, Lady of Devastation, Chaos, Death, and all such things. Seeking a novelty, a toy, and found a young Silinan and named him thus, and took him away from the dead places and into her care. A kept pet, a caged beast, Silinan learned to live and to hate his keeper all in one. Liberation came at a cost- one eye, and flight. But he was no use to Deva if he was not beautiful, and so, he was left to bleed on the dirt and would have perished if not for the timely intervention of Hope- a lesser god, but one who heard the prayer of a dying man all the same.
