Omkaer is very comfortable in his own skin, even in situations unknown to him. He's outspoken, friendly, and always joking around; happy to make new friends and fester relationships. He's confident in himself, not only in his skills as a warrior, or his craft as a leather worker, but simply in his character. He was popular in his youth on Vakaro, and is sure that no matter where he travels, he will have no trouble finding that same attention elsewhere. In some ways he can come off as arrogant, perhaps even narcissistic--he adores praise and stroking his ego--but this mirrors his drive, and an incredible need in himself to surpass his own expectations. He's constantly striving for more and is not always satisfied with himself. But he is not one to dwell--rather, he would much sooner stifle any semblance of insecurity in physical intimacy with strangers.

HISTORY:

Omkaer was born on Vakaro, in a large colony just beyond the capitol. His parents were skilled and respected leather workers, serving a large population with their crafts, and Omkaer followed in their footsteps from a young age. He helped in their shop when he wasn't training and preparing for his coming of age ceremony, and could not have been more eager to reach that point in his life. Fortunately for him, the career he inherited from his parents required frequent hunting, and it gave him plenty of hands on experience, as well as exposure to potential bonds. As he grew older, Omkaer sought out his older cousin, Dalain, interested in training with the warrior to better himself. Of course, given the state of Dalain's father's disabilities, they were estranged from each other, and Omkaer was eager to mend that. Dalain, however, was unsure, but after his initial hesitation, he grew to enjoy the younger Makar's company, and the pair grew closer.

But eventually Dalain chose to leave Vakaro, exploring the world beyond. Omkaer returned to his work for several years, until his cousin returned with strangers in his company. The visit was brief and not without its complications, but the younger Makar was fascinated by these Others, and decided to leave the island just as his cousin had. Taking with him his skill set and little else, Omkaer followed Dalain to the mainland to start a new life for himself.

NOTES

• *Omkaer is bisexual, however this is something he has explored, and even thought of, very little. Given the Makar's views on homosexuality, his experience with men is very limited (barely anything at all). That isn't to say he isn't interested, though. 
• As a Makar, he has mastered several animal forms that he can take on at will. These forms include: Arctic fox, Snowshoe Hare, Snow Grouse. 
• He is a skilled leather worker, hunting for all of his own pelts (and, as is the Makar way, using every bit of the animals he kills). He specializes in armors and accessories, but has also dabbled in clothes.
• During his time bonding with the Arctic Fox, Omkaer was attacked by a pack of sabertooth tigers. This resulted in the scars across his face, and the slight discoloration of his left eye. There is a visible scar on this eye as well, and his vision is slightly hindered.
