Marceline Beaufort

Bio

Marcel is/was Alexander Crimson's faithful knight and second-in-command. She is one of the highest ranking knights of the entire army and holds the title of the "Crimson Ace" or just "Ace". All of her actions are directed by her king Alexander, and she has devoted her life to him.

Eventually, as Alexander grows more corrupted, so does she. She dies protecting him despite the fact that he never needed protecting due to his invulnerability.

Backstory

Marcel's brother was framed for murder, and despite all evidence pointing to innocence, the Red Queen had him executed. Marcel's father worked for the Red Queen, but was fired and put on death row as well. He was allowed to be with his family before his execution for a few weeks. After he was supposed to be executed, Marcel and her mother would be homeless. Marcel despised the Queen for this.

Alexander Crimson murders the Queen just in time to revoke her father's death sentence. She sees this as Alexander rescuing her and her family, so she dedicates herself to him and joins the infantry. She quickly rises in the ranks and claims the title of the Ace, although she permanently scars one eye in the process.

Marcel is a hypocrite though. Even when Alexander calls for unnecessary executions, she turns a blind eye to it. Even when he is overcome with greed and no longer cares about the people of Vermeil, she glosses over it. She becomes corrupted from the mere presence of Alexander.
