A peasant boy from a world where magic is only given to the lucky and the noble. He wishes to make the lives of his family and his village better, by working for the local alchemist, where he makes many potions, remedies, and medicine for his poor village. However, one day, a mysterious wizard comes to the village, asking for an audience with the protegée of the local alchemist. He gives him a magic wand he calls "Dragon Breath", saying it has the ability to grant the wishes of many, yet it can only be wielded by a truly noble soul. When the boy acquires the wand, he asks the wizard why he has to hold. The wizard only responds with:
"You will know in time. The one with the shoes will show you the way."
