STORY

BACKGROUND

After graduating early at 16, she applied as a medical intern studying plasma-based healing on Overwatch's watchpoint in Manila. However, this only granted her firsthand exposure to the corruption that dwelled within, much like what she had seen in the government. Her attempts at speaking up about it unfortunately meant nothing to her higher-ups. 

Desperate to do the right thing, Corazon forged papers that faked her credentials and granted her transfer to an international Overwatch base, hoping to bring the problems plaguing her home base to someone who was willing to listen and powerful enough to help her change things.

She was eventually caught in her lie by Overwatch’s main headquarters, who had grown suspicious of her constant transfers. Despite her interrogation revealing a genuine lack of ill intentions, she was still to be sent back home to the Philippines, only going unpunished due to her young age. 

BLACKWATCH

Corazon was offered a plea deal by Blackwatch Commander Reyes, who promised to send his own Overwatch representatives to reform the corrupted watchpoint in Manila under the condition that she continue her study of plasma-based healing under his watch. She accepted, and would eventually become assistant head of Blackwatch’s clandestine medical department under Moira O'Deorain. 

POST-OVERWATCH

Corazon was discharged from Blackwatch's (and by extension, Overwatch's) ranks shortly before the organization's fall. The reasons behind this are unknown, though is is implied to be a protective move on Reyes' part.

NOSFERATU

Corazon is shown to be discharged at around the same time as fellow Overwatch member Valeriu Ionescu. With his boss, Gérard, dead, and her allies in Blackwatch having already left the two found themselves aimless and unsure of where to go next. Valeriu proposed for her to travel alongside him in search of his father to Nosferatu, an abandoned, irradiated region of Romania infested with monstrous creatures called strigoi—once people, but malformed into beasts as a result of the radiation.  Though she agreed, Corazon attempted to back out, learning of the perils only a short while after travelling. With sigils imbued into his gauntlet compounded by his desperation driving him mad, he entrapped her while in Metamorphosis mode, forcing her to stay with him and be used as his own personal healer.

LE MASCHERE

Sometime in between Nosferatu and current day, Corazon was rescued by Le Maschere. Their representatives were already investigating Romania, as Strigoi had escaped Nosferatu and was wreaking havoc among the nation's omnic population. After facing off against him, Le Maschere took the trapped Corazon, presuming she was some kind of advanced technology. 

The organization's leader, Mascherari, offered Corazon a place in Le Maschere due to their need for more human representatives. Wanting to pay off her debt to him, she accepted, and would eventually rise through the ranks to become the organization's diplomat.

EVIL EYE

Mascherari tasks Corazon with managing his adoptive son Nicola Ricci, a young and reckless pop-rock singer performing under the stage name Malocchio.
