Francis Hawthorn, also known as Riddle, was a middle-classed somali cat living in Augury with his girlfriend, Holly Hilton. He was known for being incredibly docile, and his lenience towards Holly's flirtatious nature. That was his downfall. One evening, Fancis discovered that Holly was having an affair with a local bartender named Will Fester. Francis freaked out. He pretended that he never saw it, and instead spent his time getting completely wasted at the local bar. After a few drinks too many one night, Francis stalked Holly and Fester as they took a walk in the local park. Francis sprung on Will, killing him, and Holly ran to get the cops. Francis realized what he had done and raced away, throwing himself off of a nearby waterfall. He drowned, and woke up as a demon full of rage, swearing that from then on, he would do anything in his power to make others feel the same pain that he felt when Holly betrayed him
