Appearance

Altair is a hoatzin with mainly ruddy feathers, a black back with cream speckles, cream tips on his black tail and wings. He has a pale blue scaly face and an unruly crest of light ruddy feathers. Unique among other birds, he has clawed hands on his wings. His beak, legs, claws and hands are black.

Altair accessorizes lightly, often only with a patterned headband.

Personality

Chipper and happy, Altair takes little serious. He’s the type to make quips in the middle of a fight and is a menace for it. Even though he rarely shows it, he’s willing to fight seriously and plays by a strict honor code to do good by all.

History

Altair doesn’t like to be called a mercenary but rather a guard for hire. Mercenary conjures up images of dark, shadowy figures in the night which he most certainly isn’t. He likes to frequent ports or guilds going out on expeditions, excited for new locales and dangers. Lately, he’s found to be a frequent employ of the Slipstream, captained by Niko who values his loyalty and honor.

Skills

A more than capable fighter, Altair prefers to fight with his sharp beak and talons but carries knives on him in case they’re needed.
