art worth: roughly $68?? excluding work by me

  • Backstory:  In the beginning there were three gods: Eden, Haven, and Aden. Each had  a different vision of a perfect world, and as they could not agree,  they each created their own. Three planes of existence, and three themes: air and perfection, earth and chance, fire and whim. These words describe their creators well. Haven loves his concept of beauty and faultlessness, and like air
Eden would be the creator of Earth, Haven  the father of Heaven and Aden of Hell (the three planes of  existence/life?)
Eden's goal was to create things, and then watch his  creations interact, curious to see how they flourish and fade. After a  few thousand years of this, he got bored, and you can now find him  wandering the world, interacting directly with flora and fauna, though  he still takes a neutral stance on events and aims to not influence the  path people have set themselves on.
  • Personality:  Very easygoing and relaxed, traits of his that have always been and  always will be. He has a policy of not interrupting, to let nature takes  its course and things fall where they may. The cloth over his eyes  symbolizes that he does not need them to see, and in fact sees more than  what his creations can fathom. He believes having his eyes covered also  helps to convey that he's not a threat, as the only way you know how  he's feeling is his mouth, which is often set in a smile. Anger is incredibly rare  (Aden has enough anger to make up for the both of  them), although disappointment is something he experienced many times,  especially when he had high hopes for a particular animal, human or  empire.
In a strange way, his easygoing nature can be viewed as  apathetic. He does not stop injustice or cruelty, or attempt to guide humans  towards being good people or strong leaders. He just wants to observe,  after setting the world to run, and see where it ends. Humans who have  interacted with him find him friendly and eager to listen to their woes,  though all sense something unnerving from the masked individual. In  some areas, Eden has become an omen, as he would appear before large  events were to occur, good or bad.
  • Likes/Dislikes:  Really loves the color green, which is why he doesn't wear any other  color and the earth is filled with many green things. He also loves  Haven and Aden, and values their feedback (which is why he also has  white on his clothes on the advice of Haven, and little horns since  those are Aden's favourite). Dislikes outside interference. Though he  hasn't been angry before, I can see some very real rage if a god or even  Haven or Aden came in and ruined a civilisation or the like without  warning and reason. Minor interference is totally fine (which is why he  allows gods and angels and demons to be in his world, to mess with  humans), but beyond that he will not be happy.
  • What I will use them for:  I really want to build on how humans perceive him as an omen, and have  him pop up before things like the crowning of a ruler (that will be infleuntial later) or natural  disasters. I can imagine a religion would be built around him, since he  comes and goes without warning, and his appearance never changes. He would ofc notice this religion, but again, would not intervene. The cult (religion?) will be based around his mask maybe, the All-Seer. Could be a good or bad cult.
He's  an immortal being, which means plenty of chances to meet with my other  characters, however brief they are. I want to develop connections  between him and other characters, and maybe in a character's life he'd  be an influence, even though he doesn't want to be one.
  • Relationships with other characters:  Haven and Aden are his 'siblings'. Haven is very rule centric, and loves  perfection and beauty. Aden is very much the opposite, wanting to do  whatever he wanted and hating restrictions. The two of them dislike each  other, but since Eden is neutral and generally relaxed, he has a  positive relationship with Haven and Aden. Eden sometimes ends up as the messenger between the two, since they refuse to even be in the same  plane of creation. He views the other two fondly, like an older brother  towards two younger, argumentative siblings. They view Eden as an older brother as well, though they all existed together at the same time. Eden doesn't intervene in his own world, but he sure does when the two start fighting physically or some other method that threatens their worlds. He definitely has been annoyed and raised his voice when the two go overboard.
I can't see him going full blown angry and shouting and trashing around. His anger is definitely the quiet type, that seething under the surface type.

misc (dumb) facts about the three
  • Though they aren't related by blood, they are generally thought of as three brothers. And they behave like such, anyway. No one is older than the other. (maybe Eden was eldest? And Aden and Haven are twins (sib route), or Haven second eldest then Aden (triplet route))
  • Haven and Aden, if ever seen together, are the same height (excluding horns and halos). This is because they compete over everything, and if one's taller than the other, whoever is shorter jumps to double that height and so on and so on until you just see two dumb giants. (they can change their size ofc, they're gods). Eden is often a bit shorter than them, so they can feel like they're the tallest around. Dude does not care.
  • The three of them are aromantic. Not that anyone would want them lmao. Haven is too obsessed with perfection to care about you, and you're not perfect enough for him anyway. Aden will do whatever he wants, whether you like it or not. And Eden...doesn't really care. He is 100% not interested, and sees any affection towards him akin to puppy love. Cute, and that's about it.
  • Eden is, of course, true neutral. Aden would be chaotic neutral, since the dude isn't evil. He just likes drama and action and risk, and joking around and making his friends and family suffer. If it ever comes down to it, a choice between what is 'good' and what is 'evil', he'll do whatever he feels like. Haven is lawful neutral, as that perfection-loving nature of his means he doesn't care about helping anyone else. Like Aden, he's not a purely good/evil character. He just wouldn't do good things all the time, because his focus is on something greater (in his opinion) than any moral conundrum.
  • Eden represents creativity? Hence why he loves observing how humans adapt. Haven for law and order, and Aden for chaos?

Haven notes (why is it here idk)
Probably  gets spooked easily, since he's busy thinking how to make this or that  better and more to his standards, or dreaming up some new creature

Aden  loves this and would sneak up on him and scare him. Haven's original  response was preparing to fight, eg quickly turning around with a hand  out, ready to attack. But since he sees it's Aden, he goes ahead and  attacks since it's just that dumb guy he hates and they can't hurt each  other permanently anyway. But this happens so often that now Haven, when  suddenly shocked or scared, would attack immediately without a second  thought, since he defaults to thinking it's Aden pranking him. And the  guy doesn't hold back, since he thinks it's Aden and the guy deserves  some pain for hassling him.
rip angels and gods that accidentally scare him haha

The more I think of him and Aden, the more they go from 'two opposites that truly dislike each other' into 'they have a love-hate, friendemies relationship and will argue about anything'. I need to stop thinking about this or else they going to be two idiots.

But I'd imagine at the start, when it was just them - Haven and Aden would fight incredibly violently, with genuine intent to kill the other. Maybe that created stuff in the process since they weren't careful. But they had a deep deep hatred of the other for a long time, before it slowly cooled down because they realised they can't kill the other. I'm not sure Eden would intervene in these fights - he's always the observer type.

If you leave Aden and Haven in a room together without Eden things will be destroyed. The two don't listen to anyone (they may take advice, but no one can sway their ultimate decision), besides Eden. And its less 'listen to', and more that they do respect him and will value his opinion higher.

Haven is surprisingly accepting of 'imperfections'. His personal code of perfection applies to himself and his angels only, so he views his brothers and their creations without any disdain (mainly applicable to eden and his creations, Aden is everything against perfection as far as Haven considered). He's also more lax on gods, understanding they need less rules in order to perform their duty, or to appear like their role  (Eg wearing white might be a rule? But ofc god's can wear whatever)

random ideas:

  • Egotistic? I am your maker, so obey me
  • Beauty in perfection
  • angels abandoning him for Aden's world or to become mortal and enter Eden's world, why? Why would you leave perfection?
  • Maybe goes to Eden/Aden's world to observe what they have, why its better
  • Lawless chaos, of course. Rules are needed. But also rules restrict creativity and personality?
side plot with the three
  • Hero is on a quest and needs the 3 creator gods on his side
  • Talking to priest, who says: The three gods are quite unapproachable - if you're burning in front of them, they won't do anything to help. (Here to watch, Haven does not care for plebs, Aden is for chaos so someone burning is chaos)
  • H: even Eden? (since he's sighted often in Miro and talks to people)
  • P: oh most of all Eden - his principle is to just watch, and not interfere.
  • H: Why do I need Eden then if he won't help? If he's just going to watch
  • P: He's the only person the other creator gods will listen to. So you need him even if he will just watch, because otherwise Haven and Aden will not care for your journey.
Demons info
  • Leaving it here since j can't be bothered to edit Aden's page.
  • Lying is just part of their nature. "Like how its in a human's nature to die, its in a demon's nature to lie."
  • Maybe demons need energy to do anything in the human world
  • and humans naturally give off energy, but its such a tiny amount that its almost pointless. They also can't store this energy since its too small
  • If a human makes a verbal deal with a demon, then that demon gets a lot more energy from the human. and as a result they can basically do almost anything (talk, touch things, move things, be visible), and this energy can be stored. Its based on the honour system for a demon to follow the verbal agreement however - so a demon can promise something, a human agrees, and that demon can just break their word immediately. One time energy boost from the agreement, not a lasting thing
  • Humans can also sell their soul - the demon then will have a continuous, vast source of energy, but they can't store this. It'd disappear once the deal is done. Demons also have to abide by the terms set in the contract, so its not based on the honour system. But they can still mess with others with all their new energy.
  • Contracts are rare, since demons hate being bound by rules. They prefer to manipulate people into verbal deals.
  • For verbal agreements, it is very tricky and easy to fall into. The demon just has to ask something similar to, do you accept? Do you agree to those terms? Are you happy with that?
  • And if you agree the demon gets more energy, sometimes without the person's awareness
  • A yes no/I agree/etc question related to accepting something, or confirming on an agreement. (So not just confirming)
