Pythia Pehitun is born with a pupil shaped like a keyhole. The scientific community calls this an ocular coloboma. The little town of Stigma Falls calls this a sign from god. What god? Some god, any god, the god, you know? Religion gets a little warped when you're this isolated for this long; when the nearest town over is a five hour drive on a good day.
Okay, so she's got a weird eye. She's got a weird eye and her parents are telling everyone she's a child prophet, and, well, it's hard to argue with that when one way or another, her predictions come true. Which sucks for Pythia, because the more her "visions" are realized, the more important her "gift" becomes.
