Orion joined the Avatar program in her early 20's. During her time on Pandora she signed up for a mission to create Na'vi hybrids using dna from different animals on Pandora. She helped get samples of different Pandora fauna and studied Na'vi culture and behavior. She helped create many different experiments and helped successfully create Ner'okx. When the rda were kicked off pandora she helped sneak the dna off the planet, recorded any conditions that would need to be recreated on earth, so these experiments could continue.

When Ner'okx was created she was given her own lab space to watch, study, and eventually take care of him. She was fascinated by Ner'okx, mostly due to him being the only successful experiment created. She took many pictues of him, including his fetus state in his tube. While the lab was hers to run and her place to take care of Ner'okx, some other scientists would come in. Once Ner'okx was no longer needing to stay in a tube she had the lab's conditions changed to match pandora's enviorment. This allowed Ner'okx to exist out in the space, allow her to interact using her Avatar, and let her kick out anyone who didn't have a avatar or mask out of the lab. As Ner'okx got older Orion fought more for him to be more like Na'vi, especially when the project moved back to pandora. She teaches him all she can about the planet and his home, though she wishes she could've give him the chance to be like a true Na'vi
