BEFORE DEATH

Hiro was a human orphan who grew up on the streets with three other parentless boys. He himself was born with albinism and was abandoned for his peculiar looks, therefore he never really liked himself much and became very quiet. However, Hiro simply loved his tiny gang, which slowly became like his family. The kids took turns to work in labour forces to scrap together some cash, they scavenged anything useful from the trash for daily lives, and they dug through leftovers for enough food to share. But as the children grew up, they began taking a different way in life: stealing, robbing, breaking in...these "adventures" seem to have filled their empty hearts with excitment and success, but all these finally ended for Hiro on one faithful day when they were making a getaway from a jewlery shop. The authoroties arrived just in time and was able to capture Hiro's boyfriend Akaru, Hiro doubled back to rescue him and accidentally stabbed an officer in the struggle. In the end, all the other boys were able to escape in the mist of chaos and confusion, but Hiro was shot dead in the head.

AFTER DEATH

After Hiro's death, his soul was not able to move on and was sent to the limbo. There he was given a vessel of a cat plush by Milo, which gives him the power to transform into a kemonomimi human. Unlike other lost souls in the limbo, Hiro is the only person who had clear memory of their past life due to the bullet embedded inside his head. However, he never told anyone about this and pretended not to remember anything, keeping all the precious memories to himself. Hiro also had a habbit of hoarding toys in a toybox, and he always wishes that one day he would be able to share them with his "family" again.

Akaru [ Boyfriend & Orphan Family ]

Akaru is one of the orphans who grew up with Hiro on the streets. Despite the four of them were all extremely close to each other, Akaru and Hiro were particularly closed and they eventually began to date. Akaru is the only person which Hiro would pour his heart out and laugh openly in front. To this date, Hiro never felt any regrets trading his life for Akaru's freedom.
