Character

Sparrow is very shy compared to all of the people in the "Pandora Clique". Unlike her flashy group, Sparrow is very modest and prefers not to have too much attention drawn to her. Whenever people talk to her, she demonstrates how socially awkward she is. When it comes to socializing, Sparrow is extremely awkward. Since she spent a portion of her life in the hospital, she never really got a grasp on this "socializing" thing. She doesn't understand how to make small talk and tends to avoid it by making her presence unknown among her peers. Unfortunately, since she's part of the Pandora Clique, she's always having some attention. Most of the time it's her classmates picking on her for being with the popular upperclassmen of the school. Sparrow tends to never respond to these remarks though as she is much too shy to stand up for herself. Sparrow is also infamous for being one of the most quiet members of the Pandora Clique. Sparrow does not speak because she doesn't know how to initiate conversation. Sparrow doesn't enjoy talking in general so she refrains from it as much as possible. Many people claim Sparrow is cold because of this.

But despite being "cold", silent, awkward, and just a shy girl, she has many good qualities that most of her peers fail to recognize. Sparrow is a very hard worker in almost everything she does. Even if it's a struggle for her, she will do her best and work as hard as she can to get better. She doesn't like talking, but she is rather good at communication. Her magic is based off of communication (she's a telepath-based magic user).

Sparrow is also quite selfless and will make sacrifices for the well-being of others. She tends to put others before herself, despite her not liking the idea of it with some people. Sparrow is also rather intelligent. She is very skilled at writing because of how much she reads. Her most favorite subject is language arts because of all the writing and reading. She is pretty adequate with the STEM subjects but much prefers classes like language arts.

Many people call Sparrow "wise beyond her years" but this is not true. Even though Sparrow is generally the advice-giver of the Pandora Clique, she does not know much about the world or how to handle a lot of situations. She's just as prone to not knowing what to do as her peers are. Much like others, she's still a teenager trying to find her direction and how to handle situations like an adult. Sparrow makes a lot of decisions that most adults would sigh at because she doesn't know any better. Sparrow is just a teenaged girl just like the rest of her friends are.

Reality Threads

Strength:

Reality Threads are the main type of Universal Magic Isla has an ability to manipulate. Reality Threads allow her to to control any non-living things, such as manmade buildings, hair, rocks, etc. She specializes in manipulating their appearances to conceal her location or creating completely new objects by pulling threads out of her surroundings.

Life Threads

Strength:

There isn't much Sparrow can do with Life Threads other than temporarily altering appearances and seeing them. She has no control over the deeper components of Life Threads the way she does with Reality Threads.

Manipulation

Strength:

The only hint of Sparrow's ancestry with Adeseclus besides her little tail is her compulsion and abilities to manipulate people she speaks with. Often times, her manipulation comes out unconsciously, but as the story goes on, Isla becomes more skilled at it and learns to control it.

Trivia

  • Sparrow's hair changes depending on her outfit. When she's in her casual/training outfit, she has a single blue stripe in her hair. For her battle uniform, the entire under layer of her hair is blue. By the end of the first arc of Diary, she only has the blue underlayer.
  • Although she's slim, Sparrow isn't considered fit. In fact, she struggles to run or work out in general. The fact she's out of shape correlates to her stronger magic abilities.
  • Sparrow joined the war to learn how to use her magic, not because she has a strong political stanse.
  • She hates salt and vinegar chips
  • Her most favorite book is Lonely to the Crystal Path which was a book that inspired Sparrow to live her life the the fullest when she was a teenager.

He is currently Sparrow's mentor, however, after learning about how the war has affected other members of the Dimensius Alliance, she has found herself disagreeing with his actions. She currently dislikes him, however, she has a high respect for his abilities.
