Avis Risk

The Risks are a family of travelling thieves notorious for conducting heists on the upper middle class. Their family lore and knowledge is closely guarded and only passed down from the head to their successor - usually the most skilled thief of the head’s children. Life as a Risk is gruelling and isolating - socialization outside the family is forbidden, and training as a rogue begins at the tender age of five. Beginning with deception and pickpocketing, it is only when the child masters the art of sleight of hand that they are taught to sneak through the shadows undetected. Risk children normally do not partake in heists until they turn ten years old, upon which they are officially accepted as a family member. Those who fail to develop the right skills in a timely matter are promptly put down. From youngest to oldest, the following compose what is thought to be the seventh generation of Risks: Avis, Avar, Avery, Alex, Avara, Arisi, Aaron, and Arden. \nDefinitely the smartest of his siblings, but horribly socially stunted, Avis struggled with his sense of belonging. The family’s callous and cold environment made it hard for the relatively sensitive and gentle man to fit in. As a result he’s learned to be silent - for fear of backlash. He takes a long while to become accustomed to new faces, and any words he does speak are awkward in both timing and choice.
