about
Micah was raised to respect his elders. His origins influence his personality to this day as he mostly speaks only when spoken to and makes sure to give all due respect to those who are older and wiser than he is. He doesn't mind his quietness, as it is purposeful in everyway, but he begins worry when his peers comment on it, unable to grasp why this is a problem for them.
Ezra and his wife are the only two people he is able to open his true thoughts and feelings to. Otherwise, he only opens his mouth in answer to a question, to state a fact, sing, or clarify anything he is confused with. This leads some people, like Soluna, to dislike him because despite wanting to appear unimportant, he comes off as a know-it-all.
He is currently apprenticed under Ezra and goes with him on missions to bring others to the Garden.
background
Micah was lucky to be raised in a large family, but this luck made him restless as he witnessed the injustices from the wealthy. Refusing to sit by and do nothing, he sought to help those in need. His searching led him to meet a passing stranger who had the most sorry appearance; filthy clothes and a need of food and shelter. Despite this, the stranger displayed a humble but optimistic attitude, going as far as to refuse Micah’s help because others deserve it. The longer Micah met with him, the larger his curiousity grew. He wanted to know why this man was so happy even though he didn’t have a family; that though he was all alone and possessed no comfort from the things of this life, he maintained a hopeful and kind outlook on it.
The stranger gave Micah the secret but it was a mistake. All Micah reaped was conflict and suffering. He questioned why this made him angry and miserable compared to the happy stranger. Pressure continued to grow as his family spurned the man and accused Micah to be the actual one rejecting them; that none of these conflicts would have arose if he never met the stranger. Unable to give up the secret he now holds, but also lacking the strength to withstand the stress from his family, he runs away to the land the stranger came from.
After a hard journey to find the the people he was looking for, he is finally able to rest and attains a new name. He becomes an apprentice to a man named Ezra to fulfill the mission of the stranger in gifting this secret to others.
