During the events of the Storm King's invasion of Hippogriffia, both Prismarina as well as her dads fled to Seaquestria to seek asylum amongst the seaponies living deep beneath the ocean depths. Once he was defeated by the Mane Six and friends, the three promptly headed their way back home to do their part in helping to pick of the pieces.
Despite her love of the ocean Marina's swimming skills when not in her seapony form are, admittedly, pretty terrible.
Feels very awkward around other ponies since she knows little about them by comparison and doesn't understand their customs, habits and social etiquette. It makes her feel like an outsider even amongst her own kind.
Was raised by two hippogriff dads who couldn't instruct her in using magic (and nor could anyone there); she is extremely poor at precision spellcasting due to lack of instruction during foalhood.
Like her parents she possesses a small fragment of Queen Novo's Pearl of Transformation, so she is capable of shifting between her normal and seapony form within a blink of an eye.
Very self-conscious about her big ears.
