Design Notes:

• Two sets of antennae
  • Back set is about twice the height of his ears (longer than typical mothcat antennae)
  • Front set is normal length (about half the height of the back set)
  • Back set is much wider than front set and has white speckles
• Crayfish Tail
  • Shape references: Aboveand Side[links contain crustacean photos]
• Light blue paw pads, nose and tongue + darker blue eyes
• Small, scruffy mane is cream w/ a white patch on the chest
• Dorsal and ventral sides of wings are different
  • Ventral side are a blue gradient w/ white speckles
  • Dorsal side are solid dull brown (the same color as the brown speckles on his tail, not the reddish brown of his body and cheek freckles)
• Small and lightly built

Character Notes:

• JUST finished shedding the last of his kitten fluff!
• He pretty much never shuts up about aquatic biology (marine or freshwater, he loves both) unless he's asleep or his mouth is full.
• Don't expect him to stay on topic -- he goes on a lot of wild tangents! You could start out telling him about your new guitar and end up on a journey from instruments to fiddler crabs to carcinization to seaweed evolution to how much he wants sushi for dinner.
• He moves almost as fast as he talks, especially when swimming -- ZOOM!
• He's kind of a teacher's pet in school and at camp. (The fact that his grandma is the camp director only serves to exacerbate the situation.)
• He loves tagging along to the forensic felineology lab his ima and godfather work at!! Forensic felineology may not be aquatic biology, but it's still science, and Kip loves science.
• He's constantly hungry, probably because of how active he is! Good thing his brother likes baking snacks so much.
• His biggest pet peeve is when folks (especially teachers) state blatantly incorrect or outdated "facts" about biology and then get condescending when Kip tries to correct them. How rude!
