Erinyes are a race of demonic warriors. They spent their time training for combat, secluded and keeping mostly to themselves on an island in the sky, choosing not to interact with the life forms below. The island is hidden in the sky and moves with the clouds, making it impossible to leave without forever being lost. Ezrath was born on Azura Isle, forbidden to wander outside of the walls of his society. As such, he knew very little outside his community. He despised being trapped on his island, and he dreamt of escaping the confines of his society. Because of this, Ezrath developed a volatile and aggrieved personality. He spent little time with others, with the exception of this solitary companion and friend since birth, Ares. They spent many days exploring the island, getting into trouble with authorities, and training.

Ezrath did, however, enjoy battling in the monthly gladitoral competitions, where he had remained the sole champion for over seven months. He was undefeated until facing a match against Ares, in which Ezrath suffered his first loss. Though Ezrath did not mind losing and was in fact very impressed with his rival's abilities, his parents felt differently about the results. As punishment for having been defeated, they took Ezrath's eye, warning that following losses would result in similar judgements.

There was no lost love between Ezrath and his parents; their alcoholism as well as abusive and controlling nature forced a rift between them and their child. Eventually, driven to desperation of his desire for freedom, Ezrath was forced to kill both his parents. He fled the island, finally gaining the freedom he had sought for so long.

As Ezrath explored the world, he found it wanting. He lacked the skills to communicate with others as he did within his own community, and found it difficult to exist in the world. He became a hired mercenary, combat being the only skill he could rely on. Keeping mostly to himself, Ezrath found jobs where they were needed, never staying in one place for very long. He still held wonder for the new realm in which he found himself in, often stopping to appreciate and marvel the world around him.

unfortunately, trouble soon found him when he was captured on the job, by a ruthless pack of bandits who tortured and decapitated him. obviously, Ezrath didn't stay dead for long. he was approached by the horseman of war, who offered him a second chance in life in exchange for his servitude. His job? to continue killing, and to wreak chaos and havoc wherever it could be found, ezrath accepted, and the horseman crafted a weapon from his soul, a glowing, blood red blade in which only he could command. 

Ezrath soon discovered that without his soul, he could no longer feel pain, and began to lose his sense of self. He struggles to retain his humanity and emotions, and fears the day they become lost to him forever.

Four months have passed since then, and the horseman has never appeared to Ezrath again. Ezrath searched for him, but the Horseman remains hidden. He hopes one day to defeat the horseman and regain his soul. Ezrath searched also for the home he left years ago, but to no avail. He continues his search, though he’s no longer sure he wants to.
