Hyouka Ienobu

The maturity and seriousness that Hyouka Ienobu displays for music befits the enormous weight placed upon her shoulders. In her first year with the London Youth Symphony, she was seated as first chair bassoonist and captivated audiences throughout concert season both through performance and personality. Upon moving back to Japan, she was offered a chance to audition for the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo - the PMF is restricted to young adults age 18+, and at age 15 Hyouka's opportunity is completely unprecedented. When asked about what made their career so successful, Hyouka stated that an orchestra is only as strong as its weakest link, and then proceeded to spout a further litany of statements about band and teamwork.

Hyouka is a very serious bassoonist with a very serious mindset and a very serious professionalism. She’s also 15. Contrary to that whole first sentence, Hyouka’s just a person who tends to get caught up in expectations of maturity and future plans, while not really knowing how to get there. Though somewhat impressionable and bossy, she’s also not always cognizant of why she takes certain actions, and ultimately means well.

Hyouka uses she/her and they/them pronouns interchangeably, with a slight preference to she/her.
