Midas

Midas is the definition of a gentle giant. He is tall even for a tall raichu, and stands imposing next to his smaller friends - but still, there is this stillness to his presence. His voice has a comforting calmness, and he moves as if he had all the time in the world - which, in fact, he does. Midas' immense patience and understanding nature makes him an outstanding mediator, being an expert in resolving conflict in the least confrontational way possible. His permissiveness isn't to be confused with lack of spine, because when something goes strongly against his values, he is not one to back down from doing what is right, no matter how gruesome it may be. He simply prefers to approach others with kindness for as long as possible until peace is no longer an option. The war has showed him how important it is to keep the current status quo, which he made his life's mission to preserve to the best of his ability.

Personality-wise, he is the local fun grandpa. Loves strolling at the park and feeding birds, many of which nest on the tree growing on his back. He is like a ghibli robot, tiny wildlife creatures often climb him and play with him. He absolutely loves children and thinks the new generations are a gift and that it is their responsibility as immortals to ensure a happy future for pokemon-kind. The director of a kindergarten, his students and fellow professionals love him, and it was a way he found to always be close to children while also not becoming too attached to them, as someone who will never die. It would be too painful for him otherwise.

The hindsight of being so slow to catch onto things is that he is a rather dense chu. Unless you have patience and respect his own time, you might find him frustrating or even annoying. He is mentally around his 50s and really likes sending blingee images in the immortalchu group chat, and minion/winnie the bewear reaction images. He just thinks they are neat. He sounds really serious and refers to most chus by their full name for the most part, but he is actually quite goofy inside. It's just his way of showing he respects you.

Midas' memories are his most prized possession, what is a shame because he is bad at remembering things. Because of that, he is always writing facts about chus he likes in a notebook to avoid forgetting them. He makes an effort not to die, because the last time he did, he forgot how to regenerate his eyes and ears, and thus became dangerously disabled. He needed hearing aids for a long time before he made friends with a talented engineer. His robotic torso and visor were both made by him and complement each other - the visor doubles as hearing aid, whereas the sturdy torso protects his vitals and makes it less likely for him to die. It was made around a century or so ago, and he technically could get more advanced upgrades, but he is too attached to his friend's labor of love to ever change. His workshop has been in charge of his repairs for literal centuries since it was founded.
