Wallace

• First thing's first; machines are alive.
  • Wallace will tell you this with the utmost sincerity but he never expects other people to understand. He thinks he can talk to machines, and they can talk to him. He clings to this idea like it's all that keeps him alive. And he might be right, but who knows? 
• He used to be a human man of undetermined age and social status. It's not entirely clear how he came to be what he is today, but there's a mental block on his memories that's so fucking difficult to bypass that he's sure it has to be something he made himself. He guesses that something disastrous and horrifying happened to make him upload his consciousness into a robot. For ease, he just says he was "born" mechanical.
• He tends not to go out of his way to socialize with others unless they come to him first, though this is less of a matter of being anti-social as it is being completely immersed in his work and only ever interested in talking about one (1) thing.
• He talks to himself aloud as a means of organizing thoughts in his head. He's wary of how others see him, given that most tend not to buy into his "machines are alive" platform, and probably needs friends. 
• He doesn't much appreciate being touched, oftentimes retreating to the opposite side of a room from someone who's just given him a friendly pat on the shoulder. Touching other people? That's fine. But it has to be his prerogative. 
• He's proud of his affinity with engineering and thinks himself to be among the greats. It's difficult to argue when you look at his work but there's a fine line between pride and arrogance. He's more loyal to his creations and himself more than he is anyone and anything else but as long as his beliefs aren't challenged or mocked, he's surprisingly open to harboring strong friendships with others if they have the patience for it.

• Wallace's frame is sleek and chrome, built more like a skeleton than an actual body save for his torso. His limbs can be detached/folded up as needed and his head turns at a 360° angle. He's more or less a walking Swiss army knife. His defining physical feature is the large beak on his face, which seems more like a stylistic choice than a practical one. He has glowing optics that can change color and light intensity at will.
  • He has a nigh-comically deep and resonant voice that doesn't at all go well with his frame.
