Rowan

Character description: A messenger who delivers letters containing feelings of romantic love. Romanticizes everything in his life and constantly sees the world through rose-tinted glasses. He removes himself from situations that make him feel the slightest bit uncomfortable by swimming away. Highly interested in the romantic relationships (especially that of nobles and royalty) and is drawn to feelings of romance.  

Story: Rowan's first experience of emotion was chancing upon a meeting between a man and woman. They sat by the pond hidden within the grove, fingers intertwined on the soft grass. Rowan listened from just below the rippling waters. He heard about the man's adventures over the past month, then about the lady's lessons at the palace. He heard about the man's brief runaway with a circus, then about the lady's chaotic failure at baking tarts. Every now and then, he heard them laugh. He thought it was a beautiful sound. As the grove and water began to colour warm with the setting sun, he heard the man ask the woman if they would meet again. He heard no response. Overcome with curiosty, he gently breached the surface of the water just enough for his eyes to see. He saw the lady, dressed in silks and gold, pressing her lips onto the man's. The man, clad in leather, had his hands around the lady's waist, as if holding her tightly, yet gently. Both had their eyes closed, luckily for Rowan. He thought that, in itself, was curious. As they pulled apart from each other, Rowan retreated into the water. He heard the sounds of footsteps in the dirt, getting softer and further away. ((Needa write more but im tired. Essentially only the man left and the lady saw him, and the lady asked for his services to send the man letters.))
