On the surface, Jed is much like both of his parents: friendly, charming, a lovable sweetheart that’s easy to like. He’ll go out of his way to be helpful, but not always productive; he can be lazy and shirk duties on occasion. Jedediah is just happy to play the good samaritan. He loves to talk and will happily chat someone’s ear off about anything under the sun.

Jed likes to know everything about everyone, sometimes to an extreme. He can be very nosy, eager to find out what makes others tick and prying at secrets. Jed is not above using deceit to get what he wants; if he has to lie, pretend, or lay the charm on thick to get what he’s after, then he will. He's known for being wily and a bit roguish, but he’s careful not to make himself seem too insincere. He craves attention – reputation is a powerful tool, and he uses it to his advantage.

The true extent of his two-faced nature is well-hidden. In reality, Jedediah is a selfish wolf whose first priority is himself. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree in that regard— but unlike his mother, who suppresses her darkness, Jed is inclined to feed his. A misanthrope at heart, he finds most wolves irritating or uninspiring. He puts on a friendly facade because he needs to blend in, even if it feels like a chore. Most of the emotion he shows is faked, and he's very inexpressive when alone. Even his voice becomes a dull monotone when the performance is over.

He can recognize the emotions of others and manipulate them accordingly, but has very little capacity of his own. Dark thoughts plague him like an itch he can’t scratch; a wolf of few scruples and even less empathy, Jed doesn't really care if indulging these urges is wrong or right. If he feels more keen to scratch the itch than he is to keep up the nice guy routine, well… all he cares about is enjoying himself.

Neither Phoebe or Dionysus expected to become parents. They never considered that their dalliances might result in pups– especially Phoebe, who always assumed she couldn’t conceive after many years of flings and flirting that resulted in nothing. Hell, she knows how long Dianna struggled just to have Marjorie and Maggie. Theirs was not a family blessed by good fortune... so it's a pleasant surprise for her and Dio, both in their latter years, when they discover Phoebe is expecting pups.

They welcome three little gremlins into the world with open hearts. Good things come in threes, or so the superstitions say.

Under the light of the Hawthorn moon they're born; Jedediah is third of the lot, enchanted by the world from the very start. Bright-eyed and precocious, he craves to know all that there is to know of the big wide world, proving to be as full of zeal as both his parents once he starts scampering in their shadows.

But as he grew, he began to notice he was... not quite like other wolves. In fact, he didn't much care for any of his packmates, but like his mum, he quickly learned to hide how he really felt. And what he felt was nothing at all. Jed was observant enough to recognize that apathy wasn't normal, but he could act like he was, so all was well... so long as he kept feeding the void.

The urges started small. Stepping on bugs, teasing his sisters, egging them on towards trouble when he felt so inclined. Mum and dad didn't seem to think anything of it, which was all the better- none of them were all that good at being good wolves, anyway. And now that Jed was older and stronger, he could move on to more exciting... mischief, let's say. Provided he just kept pretending he gave a damn about Skydas and the rules, he was free to do as he pleased.
