his background isn't fully known. he has pieces from both halves of his brain that don't quite fit right. perhaps he will never know for certain, but he makes due with what he can remember. As his sense of belonging is ultimately shattered at this point, he unfortunately is very easily taken advantage of. He tries to do what's right, but can easily give in to others wants and needs. He often puts others above himself especially with not being able to sort out his feelings right away, he will go with the easiest option. Even if it causes himself harm. Because of how he grew up and the traumas he has endured, he tries his best to treat others with kindness and not judge before being to know them. This is especially a sore spot for him as he gets discriminated against often due to how he looks. He tries to cover up his face scar with his hair and has been battling with self confidence. When Gutter comes along, Phlegm is able to get inspired and become more confident with someone like Gutter around. The downside is, Gutter can get controlling since Phlegm is pretty easily manipulated. Because Phlegm has low self worth he takes Gutters bossiness as caring for him and wanting what is best for him. However, with Gutter being emotionally stunted in his own way, their relationship grows more toxic as it progresses. As he continues to get pushed to his limit along with his own brain constantly fighting itself, he is a ticking time bomb. He has been known to snap during times of extreme stress and sees himself as a monster for having these dark moments. With Gutter having witnessed him at his worst, Phlegm is thankful and shocked that Gutter is still around. 

hobbies 

exploring. he likes to explore the city through the sewer drains. there are less people down there and he can overhear conversations.  

he enjoys being behind the scenes and taking care of smaller creatures. everywhere he goes he tries to clean and get rid of as much litter and pollution as he can.

Health/habbits 

his body is constantly pulling him in opposing directions. it's difficult for him to think clearly. sometimes his body gets too stressed out to the point of him throwing up. 

even though he spends times in not so clean places, he is almost immune to getting sick from outside sources.
he has to be careful because mold and fungi tends to grow on him, especially in between his seams. it wouldn't be an issue normally, but some of the mold/fungi can grow into his nerve connections and mess with his connection with body parts.

despite spending his time in gross places, he maintains very good hygiene. being a mix of 2 hounds, he is able to detect anything that could be harmful to him before getting too close to him. Well almost anything...
