Dellmuth (Del) Shadowcress | Male | 30s | Cryptic hunter | Lonely soul, shy, quiet, mysterious but friendly if you make the first move

Abandoned as a young browbird, he was left to fend for himself in the wilds surrounding his childhood home. Defenseless, he encountered many beasts and monsters leading him to grow quickly and skillfully in the woods alone. He learned to craft his own signature type of weaponry for protecting himself and killing beasts. He did not hunt for sport, only for survival. He doesn't like killing living creatures as he doesn't want to take them from their families.. leaving their pack to think they've been abandoned like he was. He still struggles with abandonment issues and deep seated trauma. Years of living as a nomadic hunter-gatherer he learned to track his prey, namely werewolves as they were the most prevalent enemy in his area.

He stayed in his old abandoned family house that once offered so much sunlight in his life, but time and solitude was not easy on the house or his mind. The house now is a shell of the past, in shambles, but still habitable to his standards.

Dellmuth's biggest wishes in life are to find where his family has gone and to find a home of his own, to be loved and desired. All the things he missed as a browlet. After many years of trying to ignore the fact that he had been abandoned, he used his tracking skills to find the direction his family had gone but many moons had passed and their trail was muddled deeply, but he found tiny evidences for the direction they went in. His search led him through the forest, leading to a clearing in the forest, right before a big city and the tracks faded. He ventured into the city he had never seen and it was a great culture shock for him. He had been alone all his life to now come into a hustling city full of animals he had never seen, loud voices, and new sights and smells. He retreated as quickly as he came.

Del had been traveling for a month or more to reach this city and to lose the tracks of his family, he had never felt more heartbroken. All of his previously closed mental wounds were feeling fresh again. With little thought, acting entirely on emotion he pulled himself together and attempted to enter the city but found himself in front of a magical door leading to an inn. Inside, the owner was a kind soul and helped him to feel at home and to point him in the right direction to find a permanent place to stay. He rested there for a few days to calm his thinking and trying to learn as much as he could of the modern world in the small amount of time he had at the inn.

Once leaving the inn, he felt stronger, far stronger than he had in many moons. He walked into the city with head held higher than before but his wits still about him. He offered the townsfolk his services of beast and cryptic hunting. He earned a large amount of gold in a short time as most people did not want to deal with werewolves, ghosts and other monsters in their homes.

While he was spending his nights on the streets he learned all about this new world he found himself in. He learned of the value of money, bartering, eating healthy and more that a normal family would have taught him growing up. His next big step was to help get his cryptic hunting business off the ground and to do so Dellmuth saved enough gold to enter a magical college where he wanted to learn to endued his hunting tools with magic. He was fascinated with what he learned of the world that no one told him about. He was particularly interested in arcane magic but did not possess the talent for it, but one Browbird he shared many classes with did. Her name was Penumbra.

Dellmuth and Penumbra often found themselves as the last two to leave class, but rarely talking to each other. They found themselves growing closer and closer. Leaving notes for one another in books or on their respective desks, but this seemed too good to be true. He saw himself as unlovable, only good to be abandoned again so he stopped attending the same classes as her.
