Quirks & Habits
Celestine is a cat that works very hard and because of that he is usually pretty tired. You can count on him falling asleep next to you, you might even become his personal pillow. He also insists to sit up until unholy hours just to finish up a project, resulting in a very questionable sleep-schedule.
Communication skills
This tom knows how to use his words, his primary tool for anyone that needs cheering up. However when he looses his temper (on very rare occasions) he will either speak his mind or go silent, always trying to pick the other choice.
Showing affection
When Celestine was younger he was a rather snappy cat that held his head high and did not really show his softer, sweeter side. However these days Celestine will shower you with love, especially after The Fall- a tragic incident where he temporarily lost most of his friends and he learnt to treasure what he has whilst it's still there.

Features
Celestine has an androgynous look to him, being from The Alpines. He does not have the thickest fur nor the longest, it's a very flowy fur-type that works better for looks rather than actually keeping him warm. Called "wolf-eyes" by Heliotrope, Celestine has rather unique eyes that seem plain until you spot the gold within' them.
Scars
Celestine does have small faint scars on his pawpads and paws from him being a lapidary and working with sharp objects. These however are very small.

Being the Head Lapidary
Being the Head Lapidary, Celestine is used to the crafts and knows a whole lot about different minerals. This feline trained hard to become a good lapidary and is always happy to show others his crafts, just as long as they don't touch the items too much.
Story
Crystallization
Born an Alpines cat, raised as if he had been born in The Cliffs- Celestine was quite the sassy feline growing up. With his head raised high and a scowl on his face, this tom refused to be seen as a weak and frail Alpines cat. Often picked on by Labradorite, he had to rebuild this tough persona he had been putting together until he couldn't be phased anymore. However, not everything was bitter, especially around Obsidian and the gang. He would often follow the friendgroup around, trying to not trip over his paws as he developed a small crush on a particular dark-pelted tom; Heliotrope.
Zircon took Celestine in as his own apprentice, the Head Lapidary at the time. The young tom was devastated, how come he cannot be a warrior and instead has to sit and paw at crystals all day? Not to mention, this was his bully's father- did he have good or bad intentions? Celestine was wary at the start, grimaced whenever he had to touch a soulstone that wasn't his and cried whenever his paws got damaged- but after some time he found himself settling into the role. It was by this time a little she-cat, back then known as Sapphire caught his attention by surviving a cruel battle. Suddenly, Celestine found himself sneaking off to keep her company and slide her honey to cheer her up.
Shatter
A moon or two before becoming a lapidary, not just a lapidary-in-training Celestine got to encounter Obsidian's cousin; Cinnabar. This energetic feline had a heart that would beat like a drum and her pawsteps were always filled with such energy- almost like she could start dancing at any given time. Celestine, being the "frail" soul he is suddenly found himself dancing with her in front of a fire, a speedy dance yet one that played out in slow-motion in front of him- especially when he thought back to how her fur looked like fire during the dance. Wildfire. After becoming a real lapidary it wouldn't be long until Celestine would join Cinnabar in the caves and share a few kisses, however this would not result in anything- just two young cats that wanted to try out this whole kissing thing everyone had been talking about.
Many moons pass before Celestine officially becomes the head-lapidary-in-training, the tom working harder than ever before to prove himself worthy of this new title. After his whole kissing-moment with Cinnabar, Celestine had realized that he wants that more than ever with Heliotrope, his crush since late kit-hood who by this time already had his own mate. However Celestine still longed for something between the two of them, stargazing and sharing tongues- bonding closely with the tom.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and as soon as Celestine proved himself worthy of becoming a Head Lapidary, his mentor dies. Not too long after, Celestine watches with a shaky Sterling (formely Sapphire) by his side as their friends storm off into a war where a landslide quickly comes crashes down. The Lapidary den gets shaken' up as well, causing Celestine to shove Sterling in a heroic attempt to save her from falling debris- which apparently worked, finding himself in her arms and gazing up at her crying face when he wakes up. Little did they know, only a few cats would return back to The Cliffs, the rest of them lost to the battle and the landslide that buried them all. The rest of The Cliffs are shaken up yet slowly but surely they start rebuilding the clan- Heliodor, Cinnabar's father becoming the new leader.
Recrystallization
Although bitter at first, Celestine learns to appreciate the time he has and the cats that surround him, resulting in the feline opening up his heart and transforming into a kinder and wiser cat than ever before. Somewhere along the line he even finds a stray kitten, tossed out of The Alpines to die in the harsh climate and Celestine swiftly takes him in. At that moment he promises himself that he will never let anyone die ever again, adopting the little one to be his son; little Pyrite. By this time, as Celestine is thrown into fatherhood he starts realizing he has feelings for Sterling but doesn't act on them yet, letting himself process his feelings. After all, he had been pining for a cat he could never have most of his life.
One day, Obsidian returns- now also known as Stormeye and with her is one of his other long lost friends, Azulite who now is also known as Glim. He is happy to have his friends back, offering his comfort especially towards Obsidian who seems a bit hesitant to take on her role as the ruler of The Cliffs. The one who brought them however shakes Celestine to the core, Heliotrope. The cat that had mattered the most to him for so many moons.
Torn between his newfound feelings for Sterling and his old feelings for Heliotrope, Celestine takes a step back to care for his son and offer his guidance to Obsidian. This was a fresh new start, a way for him and Heliotrope to start over and hopefully become more than friends, but he won't be the one to follow the cat around like a lovesick puppy this time around. Nevertheless, Heliotrope decides to share his nest with Sterling and Celestine cannot take it anymore so when the she-cat comes to him the next day he reveals his true feelings towards her; the two of them ending up as mates in the end. Little did they know, they would soon find out that Sterling is carrying Heliotrope's kittens.
Fun facts!
- The blue markings by his eyes and on his shoulders are supposed to look like wings to bring forward the angelic vibe of his design.
- Aside from trying to give angelic-vibes with his design, he is also supposed to give celestial being-aesthetic.
- Because he is the Head Lapidary, he is responsible for most of the crafts and therefore he is always covered in crystal-dust, resulting in him sparkling beneath sun/moonlight.
- Celestine might not be a warrior nor a hunter, however he is pretty toned from wielding most heavy tools from morning to sunset.
Connections
His dear beloved mate, two felines brought together during the era of uncertainty in The Cliffs. When he first met her she had been severely wounded and not too long after had to join him, saying goodbye to her warrior life and joining the lapidaries. He had tried to cheer her up- even as she went from Sapphire to Sterling, oh how he wishes he could have repaired her soulstone. The small damsel soon developed a crush on the fancy tom, seems like his charming nature had lured her in. Perhaps it was saving her from the collapsing den and waking up in her arms, maybe it was her little fiddling around whenever she got awkward- or maybe it was her beautiful and sweet smile. She is the love of his life and Celestine will give her his whole heart. From her crush to her doting mate, the Head Lapidary will always be there to remind her of how much she truly means to him.
Once upon a time, someone Celestine couldn’t pull his gaze from to a cat that almost caused him to flex his claws. Heliotrope had always been taken, had always had other plans and even as they laid side by side watching the stars; Celestine could only see how the tom longed for his beautiful mate. A war stormed over them and Celestine thought he had lost him for good, but when the tom finally came back and Celestine thought that maybe this was their chance- Heliotrope yet again chose someone else who happened to be Sterling, not long-term but enough for Celestine to bow his head and walk away, a fiddle flicker of anger catching in his heart and turning into an inferno as he watched his mate tough out Heliotrope’s kittens. Nowadays their relationship is strained but Celestine has put the past behind him and is ready to move on, be friends with the tom once again.
It all started with a swift dance by a crackling fire, her grey and red fur looking like an absolute volcano- heck even her personality fits. Explosive…yet very charming- someone that can match his own charm perfectly. They danced until he was good at it and before long he was holding her, looking down at those amber eyes and trying to catch his breath. Then a few moons later the two of them snuck off into a quiet den and when nobody was around they shared a kiss or two…maybe three. It was a one time thing and Cinnabar swiftly climbed the ladder and reached Sterling’s best friend tier…what was up with him and connecting so well with females?
The Shogun herself, his leader and the pride of The Cliffs, The Queen herself- he likes his friend a lot. Following her around and the rest of the kittens like Azulite and Heliotrope, he always looked at little Obsidian’s next move and smiled whenever she did what he thought was the good option…then whined if he had to get stuck in a hole in the cave wall again. She has gone through unimaginable things and his joy when she came back with not only Heliotrope but the missing Azulite as well was beyond measure. Did he become her therapist sort of? Yes. Did she become his relationship-counselor? Indeed. But it all worked out in the end.
