Kyte

Kyte's relationship with her family is incredibly strained. For most of her life, her father had no idea she existed as her mother vanished after becoming pregnant with her. Obsessed with creating a stronger, more powerful generation, her mother performed the same experimentations on Kyte that her family had been performing on its children for generations - unfortunately, in her eyes and the eyes of her parents, the experiments were seen as a failure and Kyte was seen as a waste. What was even more of a waste were the attempts at destroying Kyte, so finally in an attempt to get rid of her failure her mother returned her to her father's care.

Despite Cain's attempts at building a relationship between them Kyte remained mistrustful of him and his intentions and, eventually, left to start her own life and just exist on her own terms, away from the other people. Despite her best efforts, however, she met a girl who similarly seemed to have demons of her own and found herself unable to shake her. They stayed together and eventually began to protect each other and help each other on the early road to healing. Still, Kyte ignored Cain's calls and continued attempts to support and help her, but still kept tabs on the family and the new siblings - and test subjects her mother continued to create. She watched as Cain, more aware of what to look out for, stopped her from running off to give birth to their children in secret and watched as he did his best to protect her new siblings from their mother, and her family's clutches. It wasn't until after the twins were born that Kyte finally acted. When she attempted to steal away into the night with the pair Kyte struck, releasing years of pent up rage and fear. As far as Cain, or her other siblings knew, the woman simply 'vanished' one night and not once attempted an investigation. Her mother's family also, surprisingly, neglected to investigate the matter and Cain has not heard a word from them since. Kyte told herself that she did what she did out of spite - but that is only because she refuses to acknowledge any feelings of kinship or love in regards to her family.

Unfortunately, whenever Kyte felt she had a victory on her belt something always seemed to kick her back down. This time it came in the form of her close friend's past coming back for her and she was unable to do much besides watch as she was killed. She remembers seeing what happened to her partner but what happened after is empty. In fact, she remembers very little over the years that followed up until her father showed up at her door surprising her with Taiichi, her newest little brother. He had hoped that Kyte would take him in and care for him for the time being, offering little in the way of an explanation on Tai's origins. Cain did, at least, explain why he had come to her of all people - he wanted to make sure Tai stayed safe and given how reclusive she was he hoped it would be a good fit. Despite her knee-jerk reaction to simply slam the door in her father's face just one look at her new 'sibling' sparked something in her that she didn't expect and couldn't explain. With some complaint but little protest she agreed and that was that. Having someone important to take care of slowly made her start taking steps to get her life back in order.

While still naturally mistrustful, the years helped her to come to terms with what had happened to her as a child and the loss of her partner. Her anger and hate has cooled significantly, though it is not completely gone. Her relationship with her family is still rocky, but she is slowly starting to open up and allow them more into her life - even her father.

Her days are spent relaxing at home, caring for her multitudes of indoor plants, a strange breed of serpent she lovingly refers to as 'Abyss Pasta', and working as a bounty hunter. A very expensive bounty hunter.
