Heisuke may have a tough exterior, but he's extremely friendly. He's quiet and soft-spoken, but he has a steady confidence that attracts people. He tends to put others ahead of himself, often at his own expense. He works for the team, and he knows that cooperation and support is key, especially in Kosetsumura's native climate. For the same reason, Heisuke does not tolerate wasteful behavior or tomfoolery. In such a case he is extremely stern and does not accept failure.
Although polite and generally easy to get along with, Heisuke is also easily jealous and quick to anger. It doesn't often show, as he's good at hiding it, and he keeps it at a low boil, emotions building up over time. He'll leave a room if he feels he can't handle a situation or person any longer; he doesn't want to trouble anyone with his issues unnecessarily. He's good at sharing his emotions, however, and will open up if asked, or if he feels there's been a misunderstanding and he has to clarify. There are, however, certain old, deeply buried topics he will not root up, even when prodded. Not everything is what it seems...
Born a twin, his sibling didn't make it, and Heisuke grew up an only child. His father a hunter-nin, he wasn't home as much as he would have liked, so his mother raised him for the most part. She was a fiesty woman who had dreams of becoming a shinobi and defending her village, but hadn't been cut out for the task, so she became a tanner and a homemaker. It left her bitter, and she raised Heisuke strictly, insisting everything he did be of the highest quality, because if she couldn't do it, he was going to do it for her, and by god he was going to do it well.
Despite how overbearing she was, Heisuke did love his mother. He enjoyed spending time with his father more, however, because the air around him was so much more laid back, despite his career. Everything he knows about woodworking and whittling he learned from his father, a hobby passed on in the evenings by warm fires. It was also during these times that his father would tell him stories about his missions (minus some details), and truly inspired Heisuke to follow in the same path.
He worked hard to become a shinobi of his village, and put his everything into succeeding, so much so that he often came home overworked. His efforts paid off, and he slowly began to feel like he was really helping change the village for the better.
