He's a housekeeper for a crazy witch/dollmaker lady. His body's strength is weak compared to humans which is by design.

He devours souls to survive. Over the millennia he has learned how to get souls/mana/whatever through other means(plants) since over time it's gotten harder to harvest human souls what with demon slayers and improvements in magic. Human souls make for a nice treat every now and then if he has the opportunity. The magic academy has a long file on him. He used to be more wild like Gopal (who he regards as a newbie) but he's mellowed out.
