About

Power details:

Violet can teleport instantaneously from one location to another. Teleporting across long distances can exhaust her if she's not careful, and if she travels too far, she may pass out upon arrival, and won't be able to teleport again for a while, until she's regained more physical energy. She can take objects with her when she teleports, as long as she has physical contact with it-- but this is only limited to what she is capable of carrying (for example, if she were touching a wall, the wall would not go with her) People/living things can be teleported with her as well, but doing so will tire her out more quickly. She isn't very physically strong, so her combat strategy is mainly focused on disorienting her enemies. Every time she teleports, a brief flash of purple lightning flares up wherever she disappears/reappears.

Backstory:

Violet was born with her mutant abilities, but they didn’t manifest until she was in middle school. She had a difficult time controlling her powers at first, often leaving her lost in unfamiliar areas. As she learned to harness them better, she used them to get away with petty theft during her teenage years. However, after seeing news reports detailing the heroism of the Avengers, she felt guilty for wasting her powers for selfish reasons, and turned to fighting crime instead. She now feels obligated make up for her past mistakes by contributing as a superhero, despite not having much passion for the job. While testing the limits of her powers, Violet attempted to teleport herself as far as she could possibly go. She ended up all the way on another planet, but the effort left her exhausted and unable to teleport again for several weeks. On this foreign planet, she ran into the Guardians, and stuck around with them until her powers had recharged enough to return home. She quickly grew attached to their strange little family and developed a friendship with them, eventually becoming a "Guardian" herself. Currently, Violet alternates between her hero duties on earth, and adventuring with the Guardians in space. Due to the amount of energy it takes for her to teleport so far, she usually spends weeks with them before teleporting back home. Her primary concern on Earth is attempting to expose Drake Zebrowski, an internet celebrity who moonlights as a supervillain.

Infinity War & Endgame:

Violet was with the Guardians when they rescued Thor from the wreckage in space. Upon hearing about the impending invasion, Violet returns to Earth to help back homr. She survives the snap, and eventually Rocket tells her what happened to everyone else when the Avengers regroup in New York. Devestated by the loss, she falls into a deep depression and abandons her superhero work for a while. Eventually, Rocket convinces her to sit in on an Avengers team meeting, where she meets Carol Danvers. When she learns that Violet has experience on other planets, Carol invites Violet to join her on a few missions in space, and Violet jumps at the chance to get away from Earth and the constant painful reminders of their loss. Years later, in the aftermath of Endgame, she finally reunites with the Guardians and decides to stay with them permanently.

Personality:

Violet can come across as somewhat cold upon first impressions, due to her bluntness and dry sense of humor. This doesn't usually bother her, since she prefers to keep to herself anyway. However, she is fiercely loyal to the few loved ones she cares about. She tends to suppress her negative emotions, rarely telling even her closest friends about her fears and insecurities, though over time she tries to improve in this area. Her attitude towards romance is similar-- she considers her own "crushes" or romantic interests to be silly and childish. Music is one of her main interests, whather it's hunting for old vinyl records or making her own mixtapes to share with friends-- or just to keep for her own collection. She finds it to be both a comfort and an outlet, often creating mixtapes to express her feelings when she has trouble articulating what's on her mind.
